Drought

It is unusable to see this much news on one topic, drought, in one day, so I thought I would make my readers aware of it, too.

Drought reform compounded by horror year
THE National Farmers Federation are concerned that the drought reform measures being tested in WA this year, are being complicated by the State having one of its worst seasons on record.-NFF CEO Ben Fargher said while there was concern about the complications of testing the reforms in a tough drought year, the timing had also created a positive effect because Centrelink support serves were “on the ground ready to go” for many WA farmers suffering through the worst drought and poorest grain return in 20 years

Drought plagues China's major wheat regions
A two-month drought is plaguing China's major wheat production areas, according to local agricultural and drought relief authorities. The four drought-hit provinces of Henan, Anhui, Shandong and Hebei produce over half of the country's summer grain, 90 percent of which is wheat, and account for 22 percent of China's arable land.

"Alarming" Amazon Drought—

The Negro River, a major tributary of the of the Amazon River, dropped to a depth of about 46 feet (14 meters)—the lowest point since record-keeping began in 1902.

Drought's grip threatens state with arid 2011
The great drought of 2011 may have started two months ago. Since Tropical Storm Hermine drenched central Texas in September, the state has been very dry, with large swaths receiving less than 10 percent of normal rainfall levels. Locally, nearly all but the southeastern corner of Harris County has received less than 50 percent of normal rain. According to the National Climatic Data Center, the two-month period of October and November was the state's eighth driest on record, and second driest in 44 years.

The declaration of war that went unnoticed

The Muslim Brotherhood recently called for jihad on the US and Israel, adopting a view almost identical to al-Qaida’s.

Here’s something important: The Muslim Brotherhood’s leader has endorsed anti-American jihad and a view virtually identical to al-Qaida’s ideology. Since the Brotherhood is the main opposition in Egypt and Jordan and the most powerful group in Muslim communities of Europe and North America, this is serious stuff.

Serious indeed!
And in light of the Obama administration's slow response to emerging information, and lack of response to many lead, it is particularly troubling. There are viable report of new threats, even as I write this, but I have any details, yet.

The article continues:

Does that mean all these branches are going to launch terror attacks, as one affiliate, Hamas, has long done? Not necessarily. But hundreds of thousands of Brotherhood followers are being given a signal. Some will engage in terrorism; others will redouble efforts to seize control of countries and turn them into bases for war on the West.

The Brotherhood is the group that often dominates Muslim communities and runs mosques in the West. Its front groups are often courted by Western governments and media.

Yet here is the Brotherhood’s new supreme guide, Muhammad Badi giving a sermon entitled, “How Islam Confronts the Oppression and Tyranny,” translated by MEMRI in which he says:

• Arab and Muslim regimes betray their people unless they confront not only Israel but also the US. Waging jihad against both is mandatory for all Muslims. Otherwise, “They are disregarding Allah’s commandment to wage jihad... so that Allah’s word will reign supreme” over all non-Muslims.

• All Muslims are required by their religion to fight as their highest priority, since “the improvement and change that the [Muslim] nation seeks can only be attained through jihad and sacrifice, and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as its enemies pursue life.”

• The US is easy to defeat through violence, since it is “experiencing the beginning of its end and is heading toward its demise.”

• Palestinians should back Hamas in overthrowing the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and unite in waging war on Israel.

The Fix Is In!

“Obama, in his Cairo speech to the ummah (the Muslim world):

"In the United States, rules on charitable giving have made it harder for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation. That is why I am committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill zakat."  BHO, Cairo, June 4, 2009”
Obama's Zakat Vow Raises Troubling Questions

A part of President Obama's speech in Cairo last week that has drawn little attention.

Obama claimed rules on charitable giving were making it difficult for American Muslims to satisfy the religious obligation of charity known as zakat and he promised to work "with American Muslims to ensure that they can." This simply isn't true.
American law, enacted in 1995 by an executive order by President Clinton and further entrenched by Congress a year later, makes it illegal to provide support to any entity designated as a terrorist group by the U.S. government. The laws do nothing to restrict donations to relief agencies that haven't been so designated.
Those laws were enacted for a reason. Terrorist groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad engaged in vicious bombing campaigns to thwart American-led peace efforts. Clinton's order called it "an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States."

As this administration starts a new push to settle the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, anything that facilitates sending money to charities tied to terrorists would be beyond counter productive. It would be inviting the next wave of terror.”

Zakat who receives it:

1. The needy

2. Extremely poor

3. Those employed to collect

4. Those whose hearts are to be won

5. To free the captives

6. Those in debt

7. In the way of Allah

8. Wayfarer

The seventh category is THOSE FIGHTING FOR ALLAH, meaning people ENGAGED IN ISLAMIC MILITARY OPERATIONS for who no salary has been allotted in the Army roster. They are given enough to suffice for the operation, even if affluent; of WEAPONS, MOUNTS, CLOTHING AND EXPENSES.”

And the fix:
“U.S. President Barack Obama signed a waiver last week
U.S. President Barack Obama signed a waiver last week that allowed him to transfer funds to the Palestinian Authority, while relaxing some of reporting requirements. The announcement of the waiver, published October 7, did not include information on the amount or its purpose.

The requirements, dubbed a “routine bureaucratic measure necessitated by terrorism laws” by the PA-linked Ma'an news agency, are actually a complex 12-section network of legislation, the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006, which states the U.S. policy to promote “the cessation of terrorism and incitement in institutions and territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority...”

The legislation requires exemptions be “in the U.S. national security interests" as Obama cited in announcing his signature of the waiver.
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/140017”

And another little note:

“Hamas Fundraising at Florida Mosque

According to press accounts, more than $1 million in aid for Hamas, including the cash and supplies raised in Orlando at Musri’s mosque, along with funds raised in Kansas, New York and Illinois, was provided on Galloway’s July 2009. There to greet them and take possession of the cash was Hamas economic minister Ziad al-Zaza and Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh, another designated global terrorist.”

.New era of engagement in the world

New era of engagement in the world

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is greeting foreign diplomats at a White House reception,
hailing a "new era of engagement in the world."
Said the president: "We're doing together what none of us can achieve by ourselves."
Scores of ambassadors and other foreign officials were invited to the East Room on Tuesday for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at an annual diplomatic corps reception. Appearing with first lady Michelle Obama, the president told his guests that in a world that's more interconnected than ever, it's in America's best interest for all countries to prosper.
Obama said the governments were working together on global economic growth, confronting violent extremism, securing nuclear weapons and achieving peace from the Middle East to Sudan. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...ocId=D9ILPJV80

I don't see it either, and today's headlines don't reflect it.

There is a story on Reuters:

The world's wealthiest people have responded to economic worries by buying gold by the bar -- and sometimes by the ton -- and by moving assets out of the financial system, bankers catering to the very rich said on Monday.

Fears of a double-dip downturn have boosted the appetite for physical bullion as well as for mining company shares and exchange-traded funds, UBS executive Josef Stadler told the Reuters Global Private Banking Summit.

Coldest winter in 1,000 years on its way ...
Forecasters say this winter could be the coldest Europe has seen in the last 1,000 years. The change is reportedly connected with the speed of the Gulf Stream, which has shrunk in half in just the last couple of years. Polish scientists say that it means the stream will not be able to compensate for the cold from the Arctic winds. According to them, when the stream is completely stopped, a new Ice Age will begin in Europe.

It looks to me like the people who have the gold are taking it and forting-up, while the rest of us get the shaft. I think President Obama is taking us where we don't want to go. But go, we must. And it's not all Mr. Obama fault. I've been watching the USA slide for 40 years. People wanted change, and now that change is upon them, they don't like it, even a little bit.

But God will look after His own. Remember what Paul said:

Phl 4:8 Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things [are] honest,
whatsoever things [are] just,
whatsoever things [are] pure,
whatsoever things [are] lovely,
whatsoever things [are] of good report;
if [there be] any virtue,
and if [there be] any praise,
think on these things.

Think on these things.

Pastors spoke up - will IRS respond?

Pastors spoke up - will IRS respond?

A conservative law firm is waiting for a response from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over the latest "Pulpit Freedom Sunday."

According to the Alliance Defense Fund, the event was a success. Attorney Erik Stanley reports that about 100 pastors from 30 states participated in the firm's third annual Pulpit Freedom Sunday, a legal effort designed to secure pastors' First Amendment rights. (See earlier story)

"All of this with the goal of protecting a pastor's right to speak freely from the pulpit without fearing any government censorship or control," Stanley explains. "So it was a great success, and we're looking forward to what may come after this."

He goes on to tell OneNewsNow that most people probably fail to realize that pastors do not have the same freedom of speech as non-pastors. "What pastors can and cannot say from the pulpit about the issue of candidates in elections is governed by the IRS and the Internal Revenue Code," he notes.
http://www.onenewsnow.com/Church/Default.aspx?id=1187674
Critics of what the ADF calls "Pulpit Freedom Sunday" say pastors already can say what they please, but should not expect their churches to remain tax-exempt if they endorse candidates.
http://www.onenewsnow.com/Church/Default.aspx?id=1182652

In the pulpit or out of the pulpit, and man of God is still a man of God, and his advice and convictions are still valid. The majority of the Founding Fathers revered God, and, tax law not withstanding, we would do well to follow their lead.

This is from http://toulonbaptist.com/foundingfathers.htm

Consider Benjamin Franklin's appeal for prayer at the Constitutional Convention:
In this situation of this Assembly, groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings? In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection.--Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth--that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments be Human Wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest.

I therefore beg leave to move--that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the Clergy of the City be requested to officiate in that service--

In his book Original Intent David Barton gives an impressive list of these founders that without doubt claimed to be Christian in their faith. I simply include their names and their positions. The chapter that this information comes from comprises about 15 pages of typed material. Below you will find a list of 79 of our founding fathers who embraced Christian principles. I would challenge someone to find a list 79 deist or atheists from among the founding fathers.

ABRAHAM BALDWIN (SIGNER OF THE CONSTITUTION): Chaplain in the American Revolution for two years.
ALBION PARRIS (GOVERNOR OF MAINE): Manager of the American Sunday School Union.
ALEXANDER HAMILTON (SIGNER OF THE CONSTITUTION): Proposed formation of the Christian Constitutional Society to spread Christian government to other nations.
ANDREW KIRKPATRICK (CHIEF-JUSTICE OF NEW JERSEY SUPREME COURT): Vice-President of the New jersey Bible Society; Vice-President of the American Bible Society.
BENJAMIN LINCOLN (REVOLUTIONARY GENERAL; LT. GOVERNOR OF MASSACHUSETTS): Member of the Society for the Propagating of the Gospel among the Indians and Others.
BENJAMIN RUSH (SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION): Founder and manager of the Philadelphia Bible Society.
BUSHROD WASHINGTON (U. S. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE): Vice-President of the American Bible Society; Vice-President of the American Sunday School Union.
CALEB STRONG (CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION; U. S. SENATOR; GOVERNOR OF MASSACHUSETTS): Vice-President of the American Bible Society.
CHARLES CARROLL, SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION
CHARLES COTESWORTH PINCKNEY (SIGNER OF THE CONSTITUTION): President of the Charleston Bible Society; Vice-President of the American Bible Society.

Musical chairs anyone?

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and George Mitchell were in the Mid East Wednesday, playing the game of musical chairs we all find so amusing.

The American-mediated talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt got off to a rocky start Tuesday morning but concluded in the early afternoon without any disruptions. More talks are scheduled in Jerusalem and Ramallah Wednesday.

Read about it here:

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/139613

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday morning laid the groundwork for arguing that Israel needs a new Arab state in order to remain “democratic and Jewish.”

Speaking with President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem at the opening of the second straight day of talks between Israel and PA leaders, Clinton stated, “The status quo is unsustainable” even if it can last for another 30 years. “The only path to ensure Israel’s future as a secure democratic and Jewish state“ is an Arab state, headed by the Palestinian Authority, “alongside” Israel.

And here:

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/139635

But at least one person “gets it”, and writes:

Peace? Get Real!

While Israel marches blindly into the snare of "negotiations," the Arab terrorists continue to attack us. Get real! What's the point? You can't "make peace" with people who want to annihilate you, so why hasn't the Israeli Government told Obama, Clinton, Blair etc to get packing and leave us alone?

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/6

Meanwhile Israel is under attack on a daily basis:

Israeli Air Force bombed targets in Gaza Wednesday, killing at least one terrorist after a massive missile and mortar barrage on southern Israel Wednesday morning. At least 10 explosions rocked the area from the western Negev to an area between the port cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod. A major electricity generating station and oil and gas pipelines are located in Ashkelon. Ashdod is home to dozens of oil refineries.

Citing 'credible information', the U.S. Embassy in Jordan today issued a warning to avoid the Jordanian port city on the Red Sea because of a 'possible imminent threat in the Gulf of Aqaba region'. Dale Gavlak reports from Amman that Jordanian officials have no information about a pending attack, but adds that last month, a rocket struck the city, killing one person.

Hamas continued to gain strength this past summer as about 100,000 youngsters underwent radical anti-Israel indoctrination at dozens of summer camps run by the terrorist group – which also attacked United Nations camps, its main competition – according to a report released on Tuesday by the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center According to the report, more than 100,000 children and teenagers participated in the Hamas camps, which included paramilitary training and military parades. The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization also opened 51 different summer camps for over 10,000 children.

And now this:

MOORHEAD, Minn. — A woman wearing whipped cream and not much else has been cited for indecent exposure at a Walgreens.

The Forum newspaper of Fargo, N.D., reports that police say the 37-year-old Moorhead woman walked into the store about 5:45 p.m. Sunday wearing on a thong, pasties, a "partial" towel and whipped cream.

Police Lt. Tory Jacobson tells the newspaper the woman told police she was a "free thinker" who was trying to attract attention and encourage people to defy society's norms.

A bystander called police and gave the woman a blanket to cover herself.

Jacobson says the woman later conceded her actions might have been "a little over the top." Police gave her a ticket and took her home.

Cordoba House:

Cordoba House:

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Chairman of the Cordoba Initiative also known as the “9-11 Imam”, addressed a packed room at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York today.

“The events of the past weeks have really saddened me to my very core. I regret that some have misunderstood our intentions.”

Feisal added that harmful stereotypes and the heated political climate ahead of the elections have compounded the stresses surrounding the construction of PARK 51, the Muslim community center near the World Trade Center site. He offered his heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the victims of 9-11 and their families.

He also thanked President Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg for speaking out against religious intolerance.

“My goal here today is to reach out to my brothers and sisters of different faiths in America… And second, to reach out to my Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world to explain and share my love of America.”

He described his arrival to the states in 1968 and identified himself as an “American” and a “New Yorker.”

“Every religion in the world has extremists…Sadly, Islam is one of them. But let me clear ladies and gentlemen, Islam categorically rejects the killing of innocent people.”

http://www.talkradionews.com/news/2010/9/13/imam-feisal-calls-on-moderates-from-all-faiths-to-combat-ext.html

Are Americans completely ignorant of history?

“Cordoba,” in Islamic symbolic terms, means Islamic rule in the West. It does not mean “coexistence,” unless coexistence is interpreted as referring to Islamic rule.

Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs cites the article (original in Arabic) published by Iraqi-American Khudhayr Taher on 18 May, in which Taher explains the following:

We must note that a hostile and provocative name [Cordoba] has been chosen for this mosque… Choosing the name ‘Cordoba House’ for the mosque to be constructed in New York was not coincidental or random and innocent. It bears within it significance and dreams of expansion and invasion [into the territory] of the other, [while] striving to change his religion and to subjugate him…

It used to not even be a stretch for reasonably well educated Westerners to recognize the place of Spain and Cordoba in the history of the West and Islam. Many of today’s younger adults, however, have learned nothing about the Mediterranean before 1492 except that the Muslim period in Spain was a flowering of science, art, and culture.

There was a great deal to admire in the accomplishments of the Muslim Cordobans, but they did, in fact, invade and conquer Spain, sell its inhabitants into slavery, provide a base for slaver raids into other parts of Europe, and rule by the sword in much of the caliphate.

Shelomo Alfassa: Beware the Cordoba Initiative...

[Shelomo Alfassa is the former US director of Justice for Jews from Arab Countries and a scholar of Judaic life in Islamic Spain. He lives in New York.]

The world should know that the ‘Cordoba Initiative,’ the New York City based organization desiring to construct a massive Islamic house of prayer at ‘Ground Zero,’ has posted on its website, a peculiar and disingenuous statement indicating the desire to bring back the atmosphere of, “interfaith tolerance and respect that we have longed for since Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together in harmony and prosperity eight hundred years ago.” the seat of the caliphate established in what is now modern Spain after the Islamic invasion from North Africa in the 8th century A.D.

The medieval occupation of Spain – “al-Andalus” – is considered by Islamic theorists to have been an inevitable step in the manifest destiny of Islam, and its eventual reversal through the lengthy European “Reconquista” a tragic but temporary triumph of the infidels. The great mosque at Cordoba was built on the foundation of a Christian cathedral, and when Europeans retook Cordoba in the 13th century they turned the magnificent mosque back into a cathedral.

The question is, who do you believe? a man making "a peculiar and disingenuous statement" or 500 years of human history?

U.S. shifts approach to deporting illegal immigrants

U.S. shifts approach to deporting illegal immigrants

The Obama administration is changing the federal immigration enforcement strategy in ways that reduce the threat of deportation for millions of illegal immigrants, even as states such as Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, Ohio and Texas are pushing to accelerate deportations. The changes focus enforcement on immigrants who have committed serious crimes, an effort to unclog immigration courts and detention centers.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-09-10-immigration10_ST_N.htm

The problem here is the disregard of Rule of Law for political gain, and the gaining of potential power of future voting block. And it is doing all the people involved, both citizen and Alien, alike, a disservice, for political gain.

Deporting illegal immigrants is possible. It has been done three times in resent history:

President Herbert Hoover, during the great depression, ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

President Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after World War II to create jobs for returning veterans. I suppose they were allowed in because of a workforce shortage during WWII.

Most recently, beginning in 1954, the very popular and practical President Dwight Eisenhower successfully deported millions of illegal alien Mexican nationals in a program called “Operation Wetback”, which lasted two years. This was reportedly done to make more jobs available for World War II and Korean War veterans.

We now have a huge number of citizens out of work, including returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. It seems we ought to be able to do the same thing today.

All that is required is that we actually enforce the law. There is nothing “ambiguous” or “complicated” about illegal immigration. It’s illegal, the people doing it know it, and they are therefore criminals who should be arrested and deported. The people that deliberately hire illegals should be arrested and jailed or fined heavily.

Brewer condemns report to UN mentioning Ariz. law

Brewer condemns report to UN mentioning Ariz. law

Governor Brewer is right, it is unprecedented for the U.S. Federal government to tell the UN to "review" states laws. The US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. The UN has no jurisdiction here. President O'bama was wrong in presenting a state's case for them to review.

From Yahoo News:

PHOENIX – Arizona

Gov. Jan Brewer demanded Friday that a reference to the state's controversial immigration law be removed from a State Department report to the United Nations' human rights commissioner.

The U.S. included its legal challenge to the law on a list of ways the federal government is protecting human rights.

In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Brewer says it is "downright offensive" that a state law would be included in the report, which was drafted as part of a UN review of human rights in all member nations every four years.

"The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to 'review' by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional," Brewer wrote.

Arizona's law generally requires police officer enforcing other laws to investigate the immigration status of people they suspect are illegal immigrants.

Critics say it would lead officers to target Hispanics. Supporters, including Brewer, say the law prohibits racial profiling and other human rights abuses...

"A recent Arizona law, S.B. 1070, has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world," the report says. "The issue is being addressed in a court action that argues that the federal government has the authority to set and enforce immigration law. That action is ongoing; parts of the law are currently enjoined."

Remember, too, that Clinton criticized Arizona's law in a foreign policy speech in South America, and Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner caused quite a stir with his comments to China about it. He echoed other top Obama administration officials in describing the law as a gateway to "racial profiling".

I have to wonder what President O'bama's true political aspirations are. I get the feeling he's focused on something he deems better than the US presidency for his future. He seems to have no regard a second term.

Secretaries-General of the UN?

He will be leaving office on January 20th 2013...Unless he pulls a Sara Palin and quits early to pursue a "higher calling"... President of the world, maybe...

We'll see.

Missiles, torpedoes. and rockets, Oh my!

Missiles, torpedoes. and rockets, Oh my!

While President O'bama and the world fritter away the time on the Mosque in New York City, I see reports of Iran testing its new Giyam missiles this Sunday,

The country will also test third-generation Fateh-110 missiles and the Kirar unmanned aircraft. Iran will also start producing high-speed Siraj and Zulfugar torpedo and rocket attack boats on Sunday.

You can read about it here: http://en.trend.az/regions/iran/1736467.html

Then there is the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

The Iranians and Moscow say they will begin fueling it this Saturday.

If Israel is going to do anything about it, they better do it quickly, before the fuel rods are in place.

Israel is in a true no-win situation. If they stop or set back Iran's nuclear program, the world of pubic opinion will grind them into dust, and if they don't stop Iran, Ahmadinejad will try to make good on his threatens to wipe the Jewish state off the map.

Meanwhile Russia and Iran are poised to begin bilateral cooperation on the startup of the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

"Iran will carry on uranium enrichment, head of the Iranian parliament’ s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Borouujerdi said on Sunday."

How much bilateral cooperation on uranium enrichment, I wonder?

And where is the USA in all this. Well...

According World Net Daily:

"President Obama would be prepared to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad if Tehran resumes negotiations over its nuclear enrichment program has fueled speculation that such a meeting could occur late next year just as the U.S. presidential campaign season is to begin"

Next year? Next year!? And the pace Iran is going... Missiles, torpedoes. and rockets, Oh my!

In California, the poet and American West outlaw calling himself "Black Bart" makes his last clean getaway when he steals a safe box from a Wells Fargo stagecoach. The empty box will be found later with a taunting poem inside. Although he only left two poems, at the fourth and fifth robbery sites, it became his signature and his biggest claim to fame. Black Bart was very successful and made off with thousands of dollars a year.

The first verse was left at the scene of the August 3, 1877, holdup on a stage traveling from Point Arena to Duncan's Mills:

"I've labored long and hard for bread,

For honor, and for riches,

But on my corns too long you've tread,

You fine-haired sons of bitches."

- Black Bart, 1877

Charles Earl Boles, alias Black Bart, was known as a gentleman bandit gentleman bandit, Black Bart was one of the most notorious stagecoach robbers to operate in and around Northern California and southern Oregon during the 1870s and 1880s. The fame he received for his numerous daring thefts is rivaled only by his reputation for style and sophistication. Black Bart, committed numerous robberies of Wells Fargo stagecoaches across northern California between 1875 and 1883, including a number of robberies along the historic Siskiyou Trail between California and Oregon.

Black Bart was terrified of horses and committed all of his robberies on foot. This, together with his poems, earned him notoriety. Through all his years as highwayman, he never fired a gun shot.

"These days bandits wear tie and suit,

And the box is not on the coach,

But they will surly take the loot,

And we'll still have the notes.

To them we say,

One day you'll dread,

Give back all the riches,

On me, don't tread,

You fine-haired sons of bitches."

July 23, 1942

July 23, 1942

The Holocaust: The Treblinka extermination camp is opened.

Some scholars maintain that the definition of the Holocaust should also include the Nazis' systematic murder of millions of people in other groups, including ethnic Poles, Romani, Soviet civilians, Soviet prisoners of war, people with disabilities, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and other political and religious opponents. By this definition, the total number of Holocaust victims would be between 11 million and 17 million people.

23 July 2010: The Jews are again mortal danger, this time from a host of enemies including:

Nations to Invade; Israel Eziekel 38

ANCIENT NAMES OF MODERN NATIONS

Israel has precious few friends, and the President of the U.S.A., though he says our bond with Israel is “unshakable” has made some decisions and over-tours to our joint enemies that make one think other-wise.

The Iranians say they almost have nuclear weapons, (if they don't have them already), and I think they will use them when they are ready. Turkey is alienated from the west and turning back to their Muslims roots. Russia and China are firmly behind Iran, and Iran is about ready to fight a proxy war using Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the PLO.

Syria, Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the PLO in the Palestinian territories comprises the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, appear to be preparing for war.

I think there will a war which precedes Eziekel 38. I don't know when either will be fought, but, soon, I think.

Meanwhile President O'bama is apparently wooing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas into direct negotiations into two-state solution with an independent and viable Palestine living side by side with Israel, and doing every thing to appease our enemies. He is courting Iran, Hamas, Egypt, and other Arab countries, but, so far, his advances have rebuffed. He does so at his peril, because God has other plans.

Take it off or pack it on?

Take it off or pack it on?

New federal regulations issued this week stipulate that the electronic health records--that all Americans are supposed to have by 2014 under the terms of the stimulus law that President Barack Obama signed last year--must record not only the traditional measures of height and weight, but also the Body Mass Index: a measure of obesity.

The law also requires that these electronic health records be available--with appropriate security measures--on a national exchange.

The new regulations also stipulate that the new electronic records be capable of sending public health data to state and federal health agencies such as HHS and CDC. The CDC, which calls American society “obesogenic” – meaning that American society itself promotes obesity – collects BMI scores from state health agencies every year to monitor obesity nationwide.

“Electronically record, retrieve, and transmit syndrome based public health surveillance information to public health agencies,” the regulations read.

With the spread of electronic health records, the CDC apparently will be able to collect such data more efficiently and with greater accuracy because the electronic record keeping systems can send the data automatically, eliminating the need for government – both state and federal – to keep, send, and process physical records.

Interestingly, Israel has taken the flip side of this issue. The targeted group may have to start drinking sugared drinks.

Last week, the government endorsed a bill aimed at preventing underweight models from being featured in advertisements. The Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs voted in favor of a bill proposed by Kadima and Likud Knesset members.

According to the bill, commercial groups will be prohibited from displaying underweight models, and model agents will be banned from employing or representing such models. This also includes a ban on shooting underweight models, who will not be allowed to serve as label spokespersons. The bill requires models provide a medical permit indicating their body mass index (BMI) is normal.

U.S. Not Ready to Talk About Containing a Nuclear Iran

According to Fox News, the U.S. not ready to talk about containing a nuclear Iran

Though Iran could have enough nuclear bomb-making material as early as next year, the top U.S. defense official said Sunday that the Obama administration is not prepared "to even talk about containing a nuclear Iran."

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that all options are still on the table if Iran were to go nuclear, but he thinks there is still "some time to continue working this problem," conceivably through the use of economic sanctions.

"I don't think we're prepared to even talk about containing a nuclear Iran. I think we're -- we -- our view still is we -- we do not accept the idea of Iran having nuclear weapons. And our policies and our efforts are all aimed at preventing that from happening," he said.

There are other viable sources that say Iran is much further along is developing a weapon and delivery system than Mr. Gates tells us. I don't know if Mr Gates and company truly believe what he is telling us, but now is the time to ere on the side of caution.

Insiring Words or lust for power. Choose!

"Democracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few." --John Adams, An Essay on Man's Lust for Power, 1763

“God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever.” (excerpts are inscribed on the walls of the Jefferson Memorial in the nations capital)

Those are inspiring word. Words of wisdom. But I wonder how long they will endure if this administration gets its way...

Calls Increase for Government to Regulate Internet Journalists and Bloggers

Obama’s man at the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Cass Sunstein, is on record as advocating holding blogs and alternative internet news media “responsible” for the information they publish. Sunstein’s book is essentially a blueprint for imposing online censorship.

Groups want FCC to police hate speech on talk radio, cable news networks

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is being urged to monitor "hate speech" on talk radio and cable broadcast networks. A coalition of more than 30 organizations argue in a letter to the FCC that the Internet has made it harder for the public to separate the facts from bigotry masquerading as news.

Obama declares the 'War on Terror' is over

Obama declares the 'War on Terror' is over

The US president has instead replaced it with a softer approach stressing "new partnerships" and multilateral diplomacy.

"Our long-term security will not come from our ability to instill fear in other peoples but through our capacity to speak to their hopes," Mr Obama said in a message introducing a new national security strategy." www.telegraph.co.uk

President Obama is facing criticism for his declaration over the weekend that he would seek a new "international order," with some questioning how much U.S. sovereignty the administration is willing to cede in exchange for more global cooperation.

In another report from Fox News:

The president's top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a "legitimate tenet of Islam," arguing that the term "jihadists" should not be used to describe America's enemies.

During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of "political, economic and social forces," but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in "religious terms."

I would ask, "Hows that working out for you?" but I already know the answer.

Meanwhile Fox News just reported the number of attempted attacks on U.S. is at all-time high

"Just weeks after the failed car bombing of New York's Times Square, the Department of Homeland Security says "the number and pace of attempted attacks against the United States over the past nine months have surpassed the number of attempts during any other previous one-year period."

In other news The Times of London reported Friday.

Satellite photos show that Hizbullah terrorists have been living in armed bases stocked with surface-to-surface missiles in Syria,

The photos show the Hizbullah members moving freely at a base in the Syrian city of Adra, near Damascus.

The Bible says best:

A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. Though his speech is charming do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. His malice may be concealed by deception , but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Proverbs 26: 24-26

Obama administration will begin formal relationship with AOC

Obama administration will begin formal relationship with AOC

AP sources:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is preparing to join an international advisory group that the U.S. has largely shunned due to fears it would adopt anti-Israeli and anti-Western stances, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The officials told The Associated Press the administration plans to announce as early as this week that it will begin a formal relationship with the Alliance of Civilizations.

The officials said they had consulted closely with Israel on the decision to join the alliance. Israel has no plans to join, diplomats said.

The Alliance of Civilizations has a history of being tolerant almost anything except Christan's and Jesus, and they are in lock step with the UN. I was not surprised that President Obama found their pitch appealing. Considering the other things he's, just in the last couple of week, this was a shoo-in.

According to Israel National News, as of April 26, Obama Has Not Approved a Single Israeli Weapons Request

President Barack Obama says new exchange programs with Muslim countries will bring their business people and "social entrepreneurs" to the US to learn and to share their expertise.Obama said Monday that the programs will include allowing Muslim women in the technology field to come for internships and professional development, while high-tech leaders from Silicon Valley will share their expertise in the Middle East, Turkey and southeast Asia.

Uhaa... What's "social entrepreneurs"? Muslim women in the technology field? Well... Whatever... It look like this is a one way sharing tunnel to me.

US President Barack Obama, welcomed Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan's offer to host the next Entrepreneurship Summit.

Turkey has steadily away from the West, and toward the Arabs and Russia it resent months. In fact Premier Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan just sighed 17 cooperation agreements with Russia, including one for the construction of Turkey's first nuclear power plant near the Mediterranean coastal town of Akkuyu.

President Obama Monday renewed his commitment to a "new beginning" with the Muslim world, vowing no let-up in US efforts to promote Middle East peace, curb militant violence and boost economic development.

The US administration has warned against an Israeli government announcement it could continue to demolish buildings in East Jerusalem. An unnamed Obama administration official told Israeli media the US "calls on both sides to avoid inflammatory actions in Jerusalem". On Wednesday an Israeli minister said the demolition of illegally built homes of Arabs could continue.

Roadside signs and billboards put up as part of a new public relations campaign in the Palestinian Authority-controlled territories are hailing US President Barack Obama as the savior of the Palestinian Arabs.

The signs read: "Barack Obama, free us from slavery, occupation and the settlements."

Obama to Abbas: I am committed to creation of Palestinian state

I detect a definite bias from President Obama toward the Muslims and away from Israel.

I am biased toward God and Israel, and God will not let either one of down.

It is going to a long hot summer. Are you ready?

U.S. posts 19th straight monthly budget deficit

U.S. posts 19th straight monthly budget deficit

The United States posted an $82.69 billion deficit in April, nearly four times the $20.91 billion shortfall registered in April 2009 and the largest on record for that month, the Treasury Department said on Wednesday. It was more than twice the $40-billion deficit that Wall Street economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast and was striking since April marks the filing deadline for individual income taxes that are the main source of government revenue.

Portugal, Ireland, and Britain are also on thin ice.

There are report of demonstrators on the streets in Spain and Germany, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel may have her hands full since she acquiesced to Mr. Obama's pleading to save Spain and the euro.

José Sócrates, Portugal’s prime minister, will announce tough new austerity measures on Thursday, including a “crisis tax” on companies and wages, to accelerate cuts in the country’s gaping budget deficit.

Meanwhile from nydailynews :

“President Obama, making a swing through Buffalo on Thursday, got a taste of the region's famously spicy chicken wings - and one very spicy female fan.

"You're a hottie with a smokin' little body," Luann Haley, 45, told the president as he checked out the fare at Duff's Famous Wings in upstate Cheektowaga.

It was by the lightest moment of an otherwise heavy-duty day for Obama - and that included his lunch order.

Clearly straying from his wife's eat-your-veggies mantra, Obama paid $10.82 for 10 wings - five regular, five extra crispy - plus french fries and onion rings.

"This is the wing capital," the president tried to argue.

The unannounced stop at Duff's came as Obama planned to meet with factory workers in hard-hit Buffalo to talk about the economy, and later huddle at One Police Plaza in New York City with Mayor Bloomberg to talk about terror funding.”

Well... That's alright, Mr. President, I have a taste for chicken wings, myself..

Obama calls for 'resolute' spending cuts in Spain

Obama calls for 'resolute' spending cuts in Spain

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – US President Barack Obama on Tuesday asked Spain for "resolute action" to stem its widening deficit, in order to regain market confidence in the eurozone and avoid a spill-over effect from Greece.

The Federal Reserve late Sunday opened a program to ship U.S. dollars to Europe in a move to head off a broader financial crisis on the continent. The Fed's balance sheet ballooned to $2.3 trillion, more than double where it stood before President Barack Obama took office.

At issue is the US share of a $39 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund, about $7 or $8 billion. The loan to Greece has grown to more than a trillion. Does that make the US' share 14 to 16 trillion? I dunno.

Moody's Ratings warns that the potential contagion on sovereign risks could impact on the banking systems of other euro zone states as well as those in the UK.

"As shown by the recent downgrade of Greek banks as a result of sovereign weakness, the potential contagion of sovereign risks to banking systems could spread to other countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy as well as Ireland and the UK," the agency states in a new Special Report.

FDIC regulators close seven banks last week, at a cost to the insurance fund of $7.33 billion That brought the number of U.S. bank failures this year to 64 and reduced the federal deposit insurance fund by billions of dollars.

So... We borrow money from China so we can lend it to Europe?

Our debt load is comparable to Greece. So are we rushing to speed up our own downfall? Or are we just delaying the inevitable?

They say that Nero fiddled while Rome burned. We are more Neapolitan than that. We just “work the phones”.

America's Shiny New Palestinian Militia

"March 16, 2010 12:00 A.M.
America's Shiny New Palestinian Militia
No matter how events play out, this story ends with U.S.-trained soldiers pointing their guns at Israel.
"The stupidest program the U.S. government has ever undertaken" last year that's what I called American efforts to improve the Palestinian Authority (PA) military force. Slightly hyperbolic, yes, but the description fits because those efforts enhance the fighting power of enemies of the United States and its Israeli ally."
Daniel Pipes
National Review

This has bee brewing for years.

Mr. Pipes coments:
"In late 2004, the U.S. government established the Office of the U.S. Security Coordinator to reform, recruit, train, and equip the PA militia and make them politically accountable. For nearly all of its existence, the office has been headed by Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton. Since 2007, American taxpayers have funded it to the tune of $100 million a year. Many agencies of the U.S. government have been involved in the program, including the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security, the Secret Service, and branches of the military.

The PA militia has in total about 30,000 troops, of which four battalions, totaling 2,100 troops, have passed scrutiny for lack of criminal or terrorist ties and undergone 1,400 hours of training at an American facility in Jordan. There they study subjects ranging from small-unit tactics and crime-scene investigations to first aid and human-rights law.

With Israeli permission, these troops have deployed in areas of Hebron, Jenin, and Nablus. So far, this experiment has gone well, prompting widespread praise. Sen. John Kerry (D., Mass.) calls the program "extremely encouraging." and Thomas Friedman of the New York Times discerns in the U.S.-trained troops a possible "Palestinian peace partner for Israel" taking shape...
...Dayton proudly calls the U.S.-trained forces "founders of a Palestinian state," a polity he expects to come into existence by 2011. What if . as has happened many times before , the Palestinian state does not emerge on schedule? Dayton himself warns of "big risks," presumably meaning that his freshly minted troops would start directing their firepower against Israel."

The Palestinian Authority has never wavered in its goal of eliminating Israel. And despite their bickering, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the PA have an over-arching goal to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth.

The crisis between the U.S. and Israel is going from bad to worse. Some are calling it the worse crisis in 35 years.

This is from The Jerusalem Post,

WASHINGTON: The Obama administration's row with Israel over settlements has prompted some analysts to wonder whether it seeks "regime change," a new government that can make peace with the Palestinians.
However, the analysts doubt that President Barack Obama's administration, which has made Arab-Israeli peace a national security priority, will achieve anything if it has indeed adopted such a strategy.

It looks like things will be interesting in the next few weeks. There are too many factors at work, and too many fingers on hair-triggers. I believe the Arabs take the Obama administration's actions as feeble and ineffective, and Israel feels that they have betrayed.

If you have never accepted Jesus, the time short. If you have, look up, because he's coming.

King Receives U.S. Commander of Central Command

King Receives U.S. Commander of Central Command

This is very interesting and may have greater significance than what appears at first glance......

Feb 17/10

Saudi Arabia - King Receives U.S. Commander of Central Command

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, received here today General David H. Petraeus, Commander of U.S. Central Command and the accompanying delegation...

http://www.isria.com/pages/17_February_2010_11.php

Interesting timing...King Juan Carlos is meeting with Obama today, same day Feb 17th

And last June 3rd when Obama was meeting with King Abdullah, Juan Carlos sent two messages to King Abdullah via an envoy the same day

April 2/09 Obama bows to Saudi king, supports Saudi initiative

June 3rd Obama receives Gold necklace from Saudi king

Spain is currently rotating President of the EU

Spain just took over command of the UN troops in Lebanon stationed on Israel's northern border

King Juan Carlos, Commander in Chief of Spain's military forces and was just in Lebanon inspecting the troops last week

Netanyahu said last week he want Spain and Italy to mediate with Syria. Both Moratinos, Spain's FM, Berlusconi, of Italy (both were just in Israel) and Netanyahu said they expected negotiations to begin in a couple of weeks......

The ties between Spain and Saudi Arabia are of particular interest. They are mentioned together in prophecy, in the Gog/Magog invasion, and in Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 38:13 speaks of Sheba, Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish and its young lions (colonies)

Sheba and Dedan are easily identifiable as areas within Saudi Arabia, which will not be part of the Invading Coalition against Israel, but allied with Tarshish and her colonies.

So who are the "merchants of Tarshish" and her colonies or young lions?

Tarshish is a reference to the European area around the Meditteranean Sea, with her superior naval and sea-faring vessels which made her an ocean traveling merchant. The primary country involved in this trade and home of the most prominent ports was... Spain. Many believe that this passage is a indirect reference to the USA in prophecy as we are "young lions" since we were a colony/colonized by Europeans.

This connection between Spain (Tarshish) and Saudi Arabia ( Sheba, Dedan) is quite compelling. It appears as if almost all of the pieces in Ezekiel 38 are aligning exactly as foretold.....

Ezekiel also implies that as the massive invading force moves toward Israel that the response of Saudi Arabia and the Western nations will be to simply inquire as to their intent. It seems that nobody responds directly on Israel's behalf to help.

.Fortunately, God never needs help to implement His plans...

things are perking nicely

While most of us are preoccupied with the disaster n Haiti, the world goes on, and things are perking nicely in the middle east, and one day, soon, it will boil over. Are you ready?

According the haaretz.com China called for more diplomacy in Iran last week. China's UN ambassador Zhang Yesui said it was too early to contemplate new sanctions against Iran over its refusal to halt sensitive nuclear fuel work, and called for more diplomacy. China and Russia have been more reluctant to impose sanctions on Iran than the other four powers.

While the hours and days slip by, the U.S. State Department called Iran's response to a proposal by six major powers to enrich uranium for a research reactor in Tehran was "inadequate.", and diplomats said Iran issued a formal response rejecting an international proposal that would have it ship abroad material it would need to make a nuclear warhead, Iran works.

Also, according jpost.com, Iran ordered attacks on a Israeli convoy on Monday. Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Muhammad Najjar vowed to take revenge on Israel over Ali-Muhammadi's assassination. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Israel of being behind the assassination, which he said had been carried out in "Zionist style."
The sources in Amman pointed out that the attack on the Israeli diplomatic convoy had been carried out in a way similar to the assault on the slain Iranian professor.
"We can see Iran's fingerprints on the roadside bombing,"
the sources said.
"The investigation is continuing in various directions."

On Reuters:
Iran's defense minister warned on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic could strike back at Western warships in the Gulf if it were attacked, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

US spy agencies are updating intelligence on Iran amid growing evidence Tehran has pushed forward with nuclear weapons research but has yet to relaunch its bomb program in full, US officials said on Tuesday.
Analysts from across the US intelligence community have been finalizing a revised national intelligence estimate (NIE) that was expected to bring the United States more into line with its European allies about the state of Iran's nuclear program.
(Reuters)

And hard on the heels of that Revelation comes this teaser from Yahoo News;

In a series of hearings before Congress, the Obama administration is trying to ease a jittery public's concerns about security, and answer challenges from Republicans who say the administration has not done enough to make the country safe

Well... talk's cheap... And our politos are good at it.

No news is not good news...

No news is not good news...
I spent 3 hours looking at the news, and, perusing that show on TV where the fat folks compete for the crown of the most weight lost. I’ve come to the conclusion that that there is not much hard news. Most of it is just talk, opinion, and supposition. I’ve also come to believe that most people look best with their cloth on, and with their mouths shut.

That said; I leave you with these parting thoughts:

It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.  ~Author Unknown

Nothing is as frustrating as arguing with someone who knows what he's talking about.  ~Sam Ewing

George Bush was still president
Heads of government agencies were approved by congress, not Czars selected by da'Prez
Chrysler and GM were public businesses
We were Israel's friend
Russia and the world respected us.
The country had some dignity
H1N1 was an event yet future
Teleprompters were an assist, not a necessity
Medicine was private
The military loved and respected and trusted the POTUS
Banks still were owned by stockholders
Companies determined how much to pay their employees, including the CEO
Christians felt secure
Climate was a trend, not a religion
There was a War on Terror, and it was spoken about and called what it is
"In God We Trust" was on the front of our coins
There was still some feeling of hope and better expectation in this country.

And much, so much more....

Just a start....but so recent, and yet what a distant memory.
