China-US to build W Texas wind farm

China-US to build W Texas wind farm
A month or two ago, I saw President Obama doing one of those onfomertials/campaign blurg that we are going to create jobs, manufacturer wind turbine at home, and get the economy moving again. I wonder what loan guarantees and cash grants to US government is giving China. With trillions of dollars vanishing from the US Treasury and trillions of dollars of debt, how much of State of Texas was pledged as collateral this?
China-US to build W Texas wind farm
A consortium of Chinese and American companies announced a joint venture on Thursday to build a 600-megawatt wind farm in West Texas, using turbines made in China.

Construction of the $1.5 billion wind farm will be financed largely by Chinese banks, with the help of loan guarantees and cash grants from the United States government.

“This wind farm project came about thanks to the openness of the United States for investments in the field of renewable energy,” said John S. Lin, chief operating officer of A-Power Energy Generation Systems, which is part of the consortium building the project.

The wind farm will be the first instance of a Chinese manufacturer exporting wind turbines to the United States, said Yang Yazhou, vice mayor of the city of Shenyang, where the wind turbines will be manufactured.

The farm, to be built on 36,000 acres in West Texas, will use 240 of its 2.5-megawatt turbines. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2010, and the project is expected to create 300 temporary jobs and about 30 permanent jobs. Six hundred megawatts of wind power is enough to meet the electricity needs of between 135,000 and 180,000 American homes for a year.

Other partners include the U.S. Renewable Energy Group, an investment firm, and a wind-farm developer, Cielo Wind Power of Austin, Tex.

Brown and Sarkozy rowed with Obama

Brown and Sarkozy rowed with Obama

The telegraph.co.uk reported
Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy had a behind-the-scenes row with Barack Obama over last week's announcement about a secret uranium enrichment plant in Iran.

The President is believed to have angered the European leaders by insisting on delaying a joint press conference until after he had chaired a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Mr Obama is said to have been worried the announcement would undermine the impact of his session on nuclear non-proliferation.

and this

ANALYSIS-Disappointed Sarkozy shifts gaze from Washington

French President Nicolas Sarkozy, initially dubbed Sarko the American for his pro-U.S. stance, is finding it much tougher to deal with Washington than he had anticipated and is recalibrating his policies accordingly.

Stung by perceived snubs from U.S. President Barack Obama and encouraged by the growing importance of the G20, Sarkozy is increasingly reaching out to non-aligned states in an effort to extend France's international influence. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/reuters/...-ANALYSIS.html

And an unrelated matter:

Japan

Worried about a new direction in Japan's foreign policy, the Obama administration warned the Tokyo government Wednesday of serious consequences if it reneges on a military realignment plan formulated to deal with a rising China.

The comments from Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates underscored increasing concern among U.S. officials as Japan moves to redefine its alliance with the United States and its place in Asia. In August, the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) won an overwhelming victory in elections, ending more than 50 years of one-party rule.

For a U.S. administration burdened with challenges in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, North Korea and China, troubles with its closest ally in Asia constitute a new complication. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...102100746.html

Swine Flu Emergency

Swine Flu Emergency

Obama declares swine flu a national emergency

According to Yahoo New

President Barack Obama declared the swine flu outbreak a national emergency, giving his health chief the power to let hospitals move emergency rooms offsite to speed treatment and protect noninfected patients.

The declaration, signed Friday night and announced Saturday, comes with the disease more prevalent than ever in the country and production delays undercutting the government's initial, optimistic estimates that as many as 120 million doses of the vaccine could be available by mid-October.

Or not??

This is Interesting.....

Do You Think H1N1 Is a National Emergency?

President Obama declared a national emergency Friday related to the outbreak of H1N1 flu, allowing health officials greater leeway under federal regulations to respond to the virus. The virus has claimed the lives of 1,000 Americans, but it isn't clear yet whether the outbreak will be any worse than the annual outbreak of seasonal flu.

Yes, we should prepare for the outbreak to get much worse 8% (678 votes)

Pay Czar Feinberg to Slash Executive Pay

Pay Czar Feinberg, Not Obama, Behind Decision to Slash Executive Pay
White House pay czar Kenneth Feinberg did not seek President Obama's approval to order steep pay cuts from bailed-out executives.
White House pay czar Kenneth Feinberg was the driving force behind the move to order steep pay cuts from bailed-out executives, and did not even seek the president's approval before making his decision.

The Treasury Department is expected to formally announce in the next few days a plan to slash annual salaries by about 90 percent from last year for the 25 highest-paid executives at the seven companies that received the most from the Wall Street bailout. Total compensation for the top executives at the firms would decline, on average, by about 50 percent.

The sweeping decision, though, came from Feinberg and not from President Obama.

One official told Fox News that Feinberg from the start had the independent authority to work with companies and make such a call. Obama was never required to sign off before final decisions were made.

uhhh... Question? Do all the 30-odd czars have such power? I thought I heard, when this mess started, that the czars would serve in an advisory only. If this is true, then the czar trumps the congress, the Constitution, and the will of the people...

I am speechless.... Twice... And those whe know me know what I mean.

You can read all about it on Fox New.

APR 79%?

"Pre-approved credit card with 79.9% APR?"
"For Gordon Hageman of San Diego, the Premier card offered by First Premier Bank came with a 79.9 percent APR. While it looks like an attempt to gouge the consumer, it is perfectly legal.
Wine distributor Gordon Hageman thought "it was a mistake" reports NBC San Diego. It was no mistake. The credit card offer from First Premier Bank, based in South Dakota, was for a pre-approved Premier card with a 79.9 percent APR. Hageman told NBC San Diego:

"My first thought, it was a mistake."

The pre-approved offer didn't mention the actual interest rate on the card. I think they're trying to take advantage of me. NBC San Diego reports that First Premier Bank's website says it "focuses on individuals who have less than perfect credit but are actually still creditworthy."

First Premier's site also indicates that it is the 10th largest issuer of Visa and MasterCard credit cards. Hageman acknowledged that his credit is not perfect, but about average.

Michael Belch, marketing professor at San Diego State Univeristy, suggested that the card is a bad deal aimed at people who are desperate. He was quoted as saying: I think you're beginning to border on deception there. They're just finding different ways to gouge the consumer.

Unfortunately, the case is beyond the jurisdiction of the California Attorney General's office because the cards are issued out of state. According to American Banking News: Although the interest rate that First Premier Bankcard offered Hageman is extraordinarily high, it's perfectly legal. Credit card interest rates are regulated on a state-by-state basis and South Dakota removed the ceiling on the interest rates that credit card companies can charge in hopes of attracting national banks to the state."

Is Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty?

This may be important!

Spain's Zapatero: "I am obsessed with Obama"..we all have to help him

There is a lot of this story that is untold, and a lot of this story that is yet to be told.... President Obama seems to be courting the UN, The Alliance of Civilizations, and Arab leaders, and alienating Israel.

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1121965.html

"Netanyahu: Israel and U.S. have resolved settlements row

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero last Thursday that talks between Israel and the United States over construction in the settlements on the West Bank had ended.

"We solved the matter of the settlements with the Americans," Netanyahu told his Spanish counterpart.

"I cannot say more than that. If you are interested in hearing more details, ask in Washington," added Netanyahu.

.........this is the first time that Netanyahu has said that the issue of the settlements, which is the main bone of contention between the Obama administration and Israel, has been solved.

Zapatero told Netanyahu of his visit to the White House two days before his arrival in Jerusalem. He said he was obsessed with Obama, and that there will never be another chance where a man who professes values such as his will be president, and everyone must help him realize his vision.

Spain will assume the EU presidency on January 1."

The Alliance of Civilizations (AoC) initiative was proposed by the President of the Spanish Government, Jos Luis Rodríguez Zapatero at the 59th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in 2005. It was co-sponsored by the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Its ironic that the same day Assad in Syria calls for EU to step-up pressure on the Peace Talks it comes out in the news that he's moved 25% of his long range missiles to Lebanon.
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1255547723103
That really tells us how he thinks the peace talks are going to go.

Isaiah 17 looks closer to fulfillment all the time. I won't be planning to vacation in Damascus or along the eastern shores of the Dead Sea this year.

Isaiah 17
1The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

2The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

3The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.

4And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.

5And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.

6Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.

7At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.

Obama heads to Texas to talk volunteerism

Hard on the heels of the circle fly article comes news that President Obama is headed for Texas again!

"Obama heads to Texas to talk volunteerism
By Dave Montgomery
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram

AUSTIN -- President Barack Obama will return to Texas today for the first time since taking office nine months ago, sharing the stage with former President George H.W. Bush in a forum designed to "engage the nation" in a renewed conversation on volunteerism."
The 4 p.m. event at Texas A&M University in College Station, the home of Bush's presidential library, will pay tribute to the former president's 20-year-old Points of Light initiative as well as Obama's United We Serve campaign to perpetuate and expand community service.

Well, thump my head with a shovel. So THAT'S where all the jobs the govurment is creating are! Plenty of jobs and no pay. I reckon they took a pages from my former employer's play book. They pretended to pay me a living wage, and I pretended to work....

A COWBOY FROM TEXAS

A cowboy from Texas attends a social function where Barack Obama is trying to gather support for his Health Plan. Once he discovers the cowboy is from President Bushs' home area, he starts to belittle him by talking in a southern drawl and single syllable words.

As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head. The cowboy says, "Y'all havin' some problem with them circle flies?"

Obama stopped talking and said, "Well, yes, if that's what they're called, but I've never heard of circle flies."

"Well, sir," the cowboy replies, "Circle flies hang around ranches. They're called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the back end of a horse.."

"Oh," Obama replies as he goes back to rambling. But, a moment later he stops and bluntly asks, "Are you calling me a horse's ass?"

"No, sir," the cowboy replies, "I have too much respect for the citizens of this country to call their president a horse's ass."

"That's a good thing," Obama responds and begins rambling on once more.

After a long pause, the cowboy, in his best Texas

drawl says, "Hard to fool them flies, though.

After snubbing Israel, Turkey to hold defense drills with Syria

Syria said on Tuesday it would hold military exercises with Turkey, shortly after Turkey canceled maneuvers with Israel. Ankara's decision, which was commended by Syria, revived fears of cooler relations between Israel and NATO member Turkey. "We held our first joint land military exercise (with Turkey) last spring. And today we have agreed to do a more comprehensive, a bigger one," said Syrian Defense Minister Ali Habib, speaking at a news conference.

Turkey, a secular Muslim country, has been a key ally of Israel, but ties have been strained over Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's harsh criticism of Israel's three-week offensive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip in December and January. Both Turkey and Israel on Monday denied the cancellation of air force exercises scheduled for this week posed any threat to their long-standing bilateral ties and strategic interests.

'Iran pays, Syria smuggles, and Hezbollah receives weapons'

'Iran pays, Syria smuggles, and Hezbollah receives weapons'
By Amos Harel and Avi Issacharoff

The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday released photographs taken by drone aircraft of the southern Lebanon village where a Hezbollah arms depot exploded on Monday. The photos show persons, possibly Hezbollah operatives, removing something resembling a 4-meter-long missile from the depot, loading it onto a truck and moving it to a hiding place in a different village. A senior military source said on Tuesday that Syria has made a clear strategic decision to make available to Hezbollah every type of military hardware in its arsenal. According to the same source, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon is wary of entering Shi'ite villages in the area and generally avoids trying to enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which forbids Hezbollah from having any arms inside the villages south of the Litani River.

The initial reports of the incident on Monday spoke of an explosion at the home of a Hezbollah operative in the village of Tayr Filsi, east of Tyre, in which five persons were killed. However, Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army maintain that only a single person was injured in the blast, and claim that the explosion occurred during an attempt to deal with unexploded Israeli ordnance. The senior IDF source said that weapons are now being smuggled from Syria into Lebanon on a regular, weekly basis. "Iran pays, Syria smuggles and Hezbollah receives," he explained. According to the officer Hezbollah has tens of thousands of rockets, many of which are kept in about 300 storage facilities spread throughout the 160 or so Shi'ite villages in southern Lebanon.

Israel seals deal with the Czech Republic

I find this very interesting in light of the fact that the Czech Republic is the only nation blocking Lisbon at this point:

Israel Seals Military Deal with Czech Republic

by Hana Levi Julian
Excerpt:

(IsraelNN.com) Israel has sealed a military sales deal with the Czech Republic, it was announced Tuesday.

Czech Defense Minister Martin Bartak told the CTK news agency the nation's military will purchase pilotless reconnaissance planes and anti-terrorism computer technologies from the Jewish State.

The announcement of the deal, worth CZK 20 million ($1.14 million) came following talks on Tuesday with Defense Minister Ehud Barak. At the beginning of September, the two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Czech and Israeli defense forces.

The Nobel Appeasement Prize

I was not going to say anything about this, but I just can't help it. I am embarrassed beyond tears by some of the things this man says, and ashamed for our country because of some of things he does.

The Nobel Appeasement Prize

by Bill Wilson

And the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize goes to - drum roll please - the man who
occupies the Oval Office. Yes, you read me right, OOO has won the Nobel Peace
Prize. April Fools' Day has come six months early for some, six months late for
others. The Nobel prize is now officially on the list of grand political jokes.
They say he won it because of reaching out to the Muslim world, banning
interrogation techniques that might be considered torture, promoting peace by
bringing a new global monetary policy to the nations, and deciding not to deploy
missiles in Europe. He also has made a public commitment to end the wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq.

But Americans may find OOO's actions far less peace oriented. Perhaps a new name
for the Nobel prize is in order - the Nobel Appeasement Prize. If this were the
case, OOO would win hands down in a way that would engender an all-knowing smile
from Neville Chamberlain emanating from his eternal post in the depths of the
pit of Hades.

Appeasing the Muslim world with a landmark speech in Cairo to a bulk group of
terrorists and terrorist sympathizers; extending the olive branch to the world's
foremost sponsor of terrorism in Iran; threatening the peace loving state of
Israel that its American ally's efforts against Iranian nuclear proliferation is
tied directly to Israel's acceptance of a Palestinian terrorist state; releasing
terrorists into society by closing the terrorist prison in Cuba; restoring
diplomatic relations with the second foremost sponsor of terrorism, Syria;
scuttling a planned defensive missile program in Poland and the Czech Republic
that was designed to defend against a future terrorist missile launch from Iran;
Ignoring a general's advice by understaffing the military in Afghanistan while
brave American soldiers are dying in increasing attacks by terrorists; yielding
the sovereignty of the American economy to the International Monetary Fund;
supporting a dictator for life wannabe in Honduras over its Constitutional
Republic; banning mission critical terrorist identification and tracking
techniques...

As an American, I do not feel too peaceful about the actions of this
administration. Sources I have interviewed who are involved or were involved in
national security say that the Islamic terrorist network is emboldened by the
actions of this White House and that, by banning some very critical terrorist
monitoring practices, it is now not a question of "if" a terrorist strike will
occur on American soil, but "when."

The question of King David should be welling up in every American's heart from
Psalm 94:16,

"Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Or who will stand up for me
against the workers of iniquity?"

Appeasement is not peace. And only fools believe peace is about giving in or
siding with evil.

Russia:Ready for war?

Russia:Ready for war?

While President Obama basked in the glow his Nobel Peace Prize, Russia is getting ready to blow somebody out of the water.

Make no mistake Mister President, this ain't no kiddy pool, and those pink plooms you see in the distances ain't cotton candy.

Russia and the EU are getting ready to heat up the north pole over gas rights, Israel says that if you and partners don't do something about Iran by Christmas, she is going to bust some bunkers. Nine months of accolads not-withstanding, you better do something. And quick!

Russia's revised military doctrine could trigger the use of nuclear weapons or preventive strikes against potential foes, the secretary of Russia's Security Council said on Thursday.

" Russia may prioritize the development of nuclear-powered attack submarines armed with nuclear-capable cruise missiles in the future, while maintaining its
fleet of strategic subs, a senior Navy official said."

The Russian Navy has about 60 submarines, including 10 nuclear-powered strategic
submarines, over 30 nuclear-powered attack submarines, diesel-electric submarines and special-purpose subs.

A new Severodvinsk nuclear-powered attack submarine will be commissioned with
the Navy in 2010-2011. It has the ability to launch a variety of long-range cruise missiles (up to 3,100 miles) with nuclear warheads.

Russia will continue to maintain and upgrade its fleet of strategic submarines.carrying ballistic missiles. They will build at least six Borey-class strategic submarines to serve in the Northern and the Pacific
fleets. The first Borey-class submarine, the Yury Dolgoruky and is undergoing
trials. It will carry up to 16 Bulava-M sea-based ballistic missiles.
The Bulava missile has a reported maximum range of about 6,200 miles and capacity for up to six individually targeted nuclear warheads. It is a key future component of Russia's nuclear A series of test is being conducted this year.

The Russian Defense Ministry said two Russian nuclear-powered strategic submarines have test-launched intercontinental ballistic missiles with a range
of 8,000 km and carrying from one to seven nuclear warheads. Each sub carries
16 missiles. The RSM-50 has a range of up to 8,000 km and the capacity to carry
from one to seven nuclear warheads.

Dave Macherson

I have paid scant attention to Dave Macherson because I have no interest in that type of writing. However, there are some authors on his “hit list” that I consider honest and forthright. When I have a question I try to go the Bible for the answer, and if that does not do it, to a trusted source. Dave Macherson is not on my trusted source list.

The third time Jesus came to the disciples after he had risen from the dead he had some important instructions for them, and for all teachers. Feed my sheep.

Jhn 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
Jhn 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Jhn 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Feed them on the Word, and not some personal agenda.

Worldly knowledge and heavenly knowledge are not the same, and even the wises of us are babes in arm when it comes to heavenly knowledge. I think that was Jesus was trying to convey in:

Mar 10:14 But when Jesus saw [it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

And like all children, we misunderstand, misinterpret, or just plain “don't get it”. So I cut people, even teachers, a little slack if they don't get it the first time around. And some of us, if we are rebellious, don't get it at all.

God bless you.
