Obama declares the 'War on Terror' is over

Obama declares the 'War on Terror' is over

The US president has instead replaced it with a softer approach stressing "new partnerships" and multilateral diplomacy.

"Our long-term security will not come from our ability to instill fear in other peoples but through our capacity to speak to their hopes," Mr Obama said in a message introducing a new national security strategy." www.telegraph.co.uk

President Obama is facing criticism for his declaration over the weekend that he would seek a new "international order," with some questioning how much U.S. sovereignty the administration is willing to cede in exchange for more global cooperation.

In another report from Fox News:

The president's top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a "legitimate tenet of Islam," arguing that the term "jihadists" should not be used to describe America's enemies.

During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of "political, economic and social forces," but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in "religious terms."

I would ask, "Hows that working out for you?" but I already know the answer.

Meanwhile Fox News just reported the number of attempted attacks on U.S. is at all-time high

"Just weeks after the failed car bombing of New York's Times Square, the Department of Homeland Security says "the number and pace of attempted attacks against the United States over the past nine months have surpassed the number of attempts during any other previous one-year period."

In other news The Times of London reported Friday.

Satellite photos show that Hizbullah terrorists have been living in armed bases stocked with surface-to-surface missiles in Syria,

The photos show the Hizbullah members moving freely at a base in the Syrian city of Adra, near Damascus.

The Bible says best:

A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. Though his speech is charming do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. His malice may be concealed by deception , but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Proverbs 26: 24-26

Obama administration will begin formal relationship with AOC

Obama administration will begin formal relationship with AOC

AP sources:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is preparing to join an international advisory group that the U.S. has largely shunned due to fears it would adopt anti-Israeli and anti-Western stances, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The officials told The Associated Press the administration plans to announce as early as this week that it will begin a formal relationship with the Alliance of Civilizations.

The officials said they had consulted closely with Israel on the decision to join the alliance. Israel has no plans to join, diplomats said.

The Alliance of Civilizations has a history of being tolerant almost anything except Christan's and Jesus, and they are in lock step with the UN. I was not surprised that President Obama found their pitch appealing. Considering the other things he's, just in the last couple of week, this was a shoo-in.

According to Israel National News, as of April 26, Obama Has Not Approved a Single Israeli Weapons Request

President Barack Obama says new exchange programs with Muslim countries will bring their business people and "social entrepreneurs" to the US to learn and to share their expertise.Obama said Monday that the programs will include allowing Muslim women in the technology field to come for internships and professional development, while high-tech leaders from Silicon Valley will share their expertise in the Middle East, Turkey and southeast Asia.

Uhaa... What's "social entrepreneurs"? Muslim women in the technology field? Well... Whatever... It look like this is a one way sharing tunnel to me.

US President Barack Obama, welcomed Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's offer to host the next Entrepreneurship Summit.

Turkey has steadily away from the West, and toward the Arabs and Russia it resent months. In fact Premier Recep Tayyip Erdoğan just sighed 17 cooperation agreements with Russia, including one for the construction of Turkey's first nuclear power plant near the Mediterranean coastal town of Akkuyu.

President Obama Monday renewed his commitment to a "new beginning" with the Muslim world, vowing no let-up in US efforts to promote Middle East peace, curb militant violence and boost economic development.

The US administration has warned against an Israeli government announcement it could continue to demolish buildings in East Jerusalem. An unnamed Obama administration official told Israeli media the US "calls on both sides to avoid inflammatory actions in Jerusalem". On Wednesday an Israeli minister said the demolition of illegally built homes of Arabs could continue.

Roadside signs and billboards put up as part of a new public relations campaign in the Palestinian Authority-controlled territories are hailing US President Barack Obama as the savior of the Palestinian Arabs.

The signs read: "Barack Obama, free us from slavery, occupation and the settlements."

Obama to Abbas: I am committed to creation of Palestinian state

I detect a definite bias from President Obama toward the Muslims and away from Israel.

I am biased toward God and Israel, and God will not let either one of down.

It is going to a long hot summer. Are you ready?

U.S. posts 19th straight monthly budget deficit

U.S. posts 19th straight monthly budget deficit

The United States posted an $82.69 billion deficit in April, nearly four times the $20.91 billion shortfall registered in April 2009 and the largest on record for that month, the Treasury Department said on Wednesday. It was more than twice the $40-billion deficit that Wall Street economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast and was striking since April marks the filing deadline for individual income taxes that are the main source of government revenue.

Portugal, Ireland, and Britain are also on thin ice.

There are report of demonstrators on the streets in Spain and Germany, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel may have her hands full since she acquiesced to Mr. Obama's pleading to save Spain and the euro.

José Sócrates, Portugal’s prime minister, will announce tough new austerity measures on Thursday, including a “crisis tax” on companies and wages, to accelerate cuts in the country’s gaping budget deficit.

Meanwhile from nydailynews :

“President Obama, making a swing through Buffalo on Thursday, got a taste of the region's famously spicy chicken wings - and one very spicy female fan.

"You're a hottie with a smokin' little body," Luann Haley, 45, told the president as he checked out the fare at Duff's Famous Wings in upstate Cheektowaga.

It was by the lightest moment of an otherwise heavy-duty day for Obama - and that included his lunch order.

Clearly straying from his wife's eat-your-veggies mantra, Obama paid $10.82 for 10 wings - five regular, five extra crispy - plus french fries and onion rings.

"This is the wing capital," the president tried to argue.

The unannounced stop at Duff's came as Obama planned to meet with factory workers in hard-hit Buffalo to talk about the economy, and later huddle at One Police Plaza in New York City with Mayor Bloomberg to talk about terror funding.”

Well... That's alright, Mr. President, I have a taste for chicken wings, myself..

Obama calls for 'resolute' spending cuts in Spain

Obama calls for 'resolute' spending cuts in Spain

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – US President Barack Obama on Tuesday asked Spain for "resolute action" to stem its widening deficit, in order to regain market confidence in the eurozone and avoid a spill-over effect from Greece.

The Federal Reserve late Sunday opened a program to ship U.S. dollars to Europe in a move to head off a broader financial crisis on the continent. The Fed's balance sheet ballooned to $2.3 trillion, more than double where it stood before President Barack Obama took office.

At issue is the US share of a $39 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund, about $7 or $8 billion. The loan to Greece has grown to more than a trillion. Does that make the US' share 14 to 16 trillion? I dunno.

Moody's Ratings warns that the potential contagion on sovereign risks could impact on the banking systems of other euro zone states as well as those in the UK.

"As shown by the recent downgrade of Greek banks as a result of sovereign weakness, the potential contagion of sovereign risks to banking systems could spread to other countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy as well as Ireland and the UK," the agency states in a new Special Report.

FDIC regulators close seven banks last week, at a cost to the insurance fund of $7.33 billion That brought the number of U.S. bank failures this year to 64 and reduced the federal deposit insurance fund by billions of dollars.

So... We borrow money from China so we can lend it to Europe?

Our debt load is comparable to Greece. So are we rushing to speed up our own downfall? Or are we just delaying the inevitable?

They say that Nero fiddled while Rome burned. We are more Neapolitan than that. We just “work the phones”.
