Reflections of an elder eye:

Reflections of an elder eye:
On day after the fourth anniversary of the event that changed my life, I yearn to document the frustrations of life. Though I don't think my experience is unique to me, I do think my reactions to it is. I fully expect to recover from it, and benefit from it, but I don't understand why it's taking so long.

Four years seems like a lifetime when you're living on the edge of recovery. And the time is so short. And I have so much to do, and have not the mental capacity and physical prowess to do it. I'm sure God will give the resources I need when the time is right, but I think I need them now.

I have tried just about every thing I can think to increase my mental and physical capabilities, and I've made some small inroads, but the gap between my capabilities and the need is large and widening with each dawning of the sun.

But I have resolved to use the capabities I have, while I wait on the Lord. Maybe, though I hate the thought of it, this is all I have, and this is all there is.
Maybe I am asking too much. Maybe I have not made good use of what I have, and I can't have any more. If that's a fact, then more's the pity, because I thought I could do more, and there are people that will not benefiting from my wisdom, such as it is. And I an not claiming to have any wisdom in my own right. True wisdom comes from God.

There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom, and, in this day and time, we need them both: knowledge of what makes the world go round, and wisdom to discern the good things from the bad.

Soooo....... Let's begin again.

Lost Ark of Covenant?

Has 'Temple' author discovered location of lost Ark of Covenant?

There has been much speculation on the location of the ark sense it was lost some 5,000 years ago. World Net Daily has an interesting piece about it, and a new book by David Flynn

In "Temple at the Center of Time: Newton's Bible Codex Deciphered and the Year 2012," by David Flynn, a book that has skyrocketed up the best-seller charts before its official release later this month, says his studies of the Temple Mount strongly suggest the Ark will be found at Mount Nebo in Jordan.

The discovery would be the greatest archeological find ever – as has been suggested in popular movies such as "Raiders of the Lost Ark.

In "Temple at the Center of Time," Flynn makes the case that the Temple Mount, the home of the Jewish temples, was not just a place of religious worship. It is also is a roadmap to future events – a kind of prophetic landmark whose significance is only now revealed through the development of satellite imagery.

The book asserts it has "deciphered Isaac Newton’s greatest paradox: None other than 'the unified field theory' of Bible prophecy. Jerusalem

According to the Bible, the greatest prophet of all time was Moses, which states, "And there arose not a prophet (neba) since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face." Ironically, according to the Bible, Mount Nebo was the site of the death of Moses.

The Hebrew words nobe, meaning "high place," and nahab, meaning "to hollow out," "gate," or "pupil of the eye," also correlate with the location for the resting place of the ark in a "hollow cave" on Mount Nebo, described in 2 Maccabees, says Flynn.

Mount Nebo is 25.20 nautical miles due East of Jerusalem – and Flynn finds significance in that distance related to his study of the Temple Mount and its mystical placement "at the center of time and space."

I think Jerusalem is the center of the earth, and it has a special place in God's heart, and in God's eye. Mount Nebo is 25.20 nautical miles due East Jerusalem, and the time is right for the ark to discovered, if it is indeed there. I don't place mach stock in Bible codes and numerology, but I do certain numbers and patterns are significance. The Jewish year has 360 days in it, and every seventh year is special; a year of Jubilee.

And as one of the poster, at Prophecy Fellowship, ConservPride, pointed out:
The article doesn't indicate what the significance in that number is, but... 360 * 7 = 2520

And the Bible says when Jesus comes back, he will enter Jerualem through the East Gate.
I wonder....

China confiscates Bibles

China confiscates Bibles from American Christians
Aug 17, 2008 17:16

Chinese customs officials confiscated more than 300 Bibles on Sunday from four American Christians who arrived in a southwestern city with plans to distribute them, the group's leader said.

The Bibles were taken from the group's checked luggage after they landed at the airport in the city of Kunming, said Pat Klein, head of Vision Beyond Borders. The group, based in Sheridan, Wyoming, distributes Bibles and Christian teaching materials around the world to "strengthen the persecuted church," according to its Web site.

The group arrived in China on Sunday and had intended to distribute the Bibles to people in the city, Klein told the AP in a telephone interview while still at the airport.

"I heard that there's freedom of religion in China, so why is there a problem for us to bring Bibles?" Klein ..

And a poster, Caver, pretty much echoed my thoughts
"Whoa, didn't we just hear a few weeks ago about China being ready to distribute Bibles to the Olympics guest who wanted one. Now, ....., well this is a new twist on the public face.

Ya gotta wonder, do they realize just how paranoid and confused they seem to the rest of the world?"

I wonder...

Let's take a look at the news, today.

Let's take a look at the news, today.

Presidential hopefuls Barack Obama and John McCain were tested about their views on a wide range of topics last night during a forum hosted by well known author and pastor, Rick Warren. Here's a summary of how they responded.
http://www.onenewsnow.com/Election2008/Default.aspx?id=216826

Now there is trio I would not want to be marooned on desert island with. Two of then are as slick as snakes, and the third one is the snake. I hear Rick Warren is going to be on Larry King tonight. That is the kiss of death to me. Larry King is just about as lost and wrong headed as a person can be, in my opinion.

Michael Phelps Wins Record-Breaking 8th Gold Medal at Beijing Games -
Olympic History made!

Good for him!

But I keep thinking about China's roll in the end times, especially with Iran's President Ahmadinejad praying for the reappearance of the Lord of Time. (the Imam Mahdi) You know the Bible mentions, in Revelation, that the anti-Christ will try to change the times. I wonder if there is a connection there....

But there are more sinister things afoot.....

Tehran, August 14, IRNA
Iran-President-Mahdaviat
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday prayed for reappearance of the Lord of Time (May God Hasten His Advent).
]Ahmadinejad, who is well interested to propagate the philosophy of Mahdaviat, a belief in reappearance of Imam Mahdi (May God Hasten His Advent) cherished by Shia Muslims, elaborated on the philosophy in the Fourth International Seminar on Mahdaviat Doctrine.

He said that the philosophy of Mahdaviat has focused on virtue of mankind and accomplishment of humanity.

He said that the modern world is in dire need of justice promised by reappearance of Imam Mahdi.

Muslims believe that Imam Mahdi (May God Hasten His Reappearance) will bring justice to humanity by his advent.
Ahmadinejad said that nobody is satisfied with the current situation in the world, owing to the chaos emanated from brutal acts of illegitimate governments.

Turning to Iraq as a pattern for crimes perpetrated by the present rulers, he noted that criminals have assaulted the civilized country under the pretext of fighting weapons of mass destruction, but they continue with occupation, in the war-torn country although the dictatorship has gone.

Ahmadinejad said that the ambition of establishing the fake Zionist regime had roots in a historical desire by western powers to dominate the Muslim nations in the Middle East.

"The UN Security Council, which is tasked with creating tranquility in the world, has turned into means for fomenting differences in nations and paving the way for the occupying and looting powers," he said.

He said that the bullying powers misuse the international community and organizations to press ahead with their own illegal agenda.

The Hal Lindsey Report, August 8. is up

I have not seen seen it yet, but will see it as soon as I get this report done. It is always good, and I think this one is especially relevant in times.

Russia threatens nuclear attack on Poland over US missile shield deal
MOSCOW (Reuters) - A top Russian general on Friday said Poland's deal with the United States to set up parts of a missile defense shield on Polish territory lays it open to a possible military strike, a Russian news agency reported.
Col-General Anatoliy Nogovitsyn, deputy chief of the general staff, told Interfax that Russian military doctrine would allow for a possible nuclear strike.

I knew that was coming. Russia has been having a hissy fit over that for a while now. The Bear has come out of hibernation and she is hungry,

And now something on the lighter side...

A prayer group in Washington DC is claiming the credit for the recent sharp drop in the US price of petrol.
Rocky Twyman, 59, a veteran community campaigner, started Pray At The Pump meetings at petrol stations in April.
Since then, the average price of what the US calls gasoline has fallen from more than $4 a gallon to $3.80.

Verbal Attack on Christians

I reckon some people are upset Christians condemning homosexual behavior, to the point of verbal attack. But it is God's attitude toward homosexuality that really matters. God puts homosexuality in some pretty wicked company. Let's take a look at them, shall we?

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I am reminded of the prophet Amos. He lived in Bethel. The name Bethel, also written as Beth El or Beth-El, meaning "House of God" (in general), or "House of (the specific god named) El", was a town in ancient Israel, about 10 miles north of Jerusalem It was the where Jeroboam, the King of Israel set up his golden calf cult. The priest of Bethel got plenty mad, and he wanted Amos out of town plenty fast. Well, let's let Amos tell it:

Amo 7:10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

Amo 7:11 For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.

Amo 7:12 Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:

Amo 7:13 But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it [is] the king's chapel, and it [is] the king's court.

Amo 7:14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I [was] no prophet, neither [was] I a prophet's son; but I [was] an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:

Amo 7:15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

Amo 7:16 Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not [thy word] against the house of Isaac.

Amo 7:17 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

Well, I guess that settled it.

God is someone to be trifled with. And Amos was not the only one who had problems at Bethel.Consider Elisah, a great man of God. He was returning from escorting Elija to meet a chariot of fire, and horses of fire that to take Elija to heaven....

2Ki 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

2Ki 2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

2Ki 2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

2Ki 2:25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

I don't think people have changed much in all these years. And God has not change at all. The time is short. I pray that people will turn to Jesus before it is too late.

World Wide Famine

While most of us in the U. S. are distracted by our sports, porn, the elections, Opera, and the soaps, or fretting about $4.00 gas, the falling dollar, drought, floods, and storms, here at home, the world goes on. And it goes on at a frenetic pace.

But as you read these words, keep in mind a promise Jesus made:
"But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

On June 4 Italian leaders at the Rome summit have proposed a sort of "global food bank'" to tackle the world food crisis.

''We will ask the European Union to help set up an international mechanism to create strategic resources to cope with emergencies,'' said Italian Foreign Minister Franco He also said Italy supported United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's planned task force on the crisis, calling for ''global governance'' of food needs. Frattini defended U.N. food agencies located in Rome, including the Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Food Program and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, against criticisms that they didn't see the crisis coming and were slow to act.

Frattini pledged that Italy would make the food crisis a priority when it takes over the chair of the industrial Group of Eight at the start of 2009.

The Rome summit ends after three days on Thursday with leaders expected to announce an action plan for dealing with the food crisis.

On Jun 3, 2008, Fifty 50 leaders from around the world gathered at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, in Rome, to hear Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio,Bertine read a message from the Pope, which stressed that the world is more than capable of providing enough food for all.

Pope Benedict XVI wrote that, "hunger and malnutrition are unacceptable in a world which has, in fact, levels of production, resources and knowledge sufficient to put an end to such dramas and their consequences.” The solution, said the Pope is, “is to 'globalize,' not just economic and commercial interests, but also the call for solidarity, while respecting and taking advantage of the contribution of all components of society."

In BEIJING, Lester Brown, founder of the Earth Policy Institute, said recent manifestations of national food insecurity like export restrictions imposed by some grain-producing countries are the troublesome portents of an
"entirely new chapter in the book of food security. Unprecedented food scarcity is beginning to dictate the rules of a new political order where individual countries are scrambling to secure their own food supplies with little concern for the rest of the world. We are in the midst of the most severe food crisis in the world's history," Brown said. "This is not your mother's food shortage...but a chronically tight food situation, a serious and long-term problem.''

Politicians have been meeting in Rome to find global solutions to soaring food prices and civil unrest caused by food shortages, but in reality many countries are already acting unilaterally to secure supplies for the future.

Abdul,RIYADH, 1 May 2008 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulyesterday called for a new global trade order to ensure food security and achieve sustained agricultural development.

U.S. Senators Barak Obama, Chuck Hagel and Maria Cantwel(D-WA) have introduced the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs

Representatives Adam Smith (D-WA) and Spencer Bachus(R-AL) sponsored the House version of the bill (H.R. 1302), which passed the House in September.

The Global Poverty Act (S.2433) commits U.S. taxpayers to spend 0.7 percent of our Gross Domestic Product on foreign handouts. It requires the United States to spend $845 billion ($845,000,000,000.00) on welfare to third-world countries. This amounts to a tax of over $2,000 on each man, woman and child in the United States. The foreign aid budget now stands at $300 billion; the Act would add the additional expenditure to the already huge amount allocated to assist the world.

In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning "small arms and light weapons" and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Children.

Martial Law Training?!?

A pitcher is worth a thousand word!

Marines to begin martial law training in Indianapolis

Under the guise of urban warfare training the 26th Expeditionary Unit an elite group of U.S. Marines will conduct a martial law training exercise at 26 “surrendered” locations in central Indiana from June 4th thru the 17th. While state officials and media are doing their best to assure the public that this military takeover of civilian property is somehow a good thing, ignoring the Posse Comitatus Act which fundamentally prohibits these types of exercises. These two weeks of training are also a contradiction of military tradition against deployments among the civilian population dating back to the end of the Civil War. Why then are the citizens of Indianapolis and six other Indiana towns being made to take part in two weeks of patrols and ambushes?

Fat City?

The dramatic reversal in what had been a weakening oil market began Thursday after ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet suggested the bank could raise interest rates, and the euro climbed against the dollar. When interest rates rise in Europe, or fall in the U.S., the dollar tends to weaken against the euro.

Oil is above $137 a barrel, Gas $4.00, diesel $4.75.
.

The government reported the U.S. lost 49,000 jobs in May as the unemployment rate rose by the largest amount since February 1986.

The Labor Department reported the fifth consecutive month of declines in nonfarm payrolls. The decline was better-than-expected however, as economists had been expecting a 60,000 job decline for last month.
It's still low and apparently not as bad as was expected. With all the banking troubles and high prices I have been expecting a lot more job cuts
And the price of fuel is starting to effect the food chain, too.
Huhuhum... No job. No gas, No groceries. We're not going to hold the title of "Fat City" for long, if this keeps up.

Over There:

Over There:
These are popping in the middle east, despite effort to defuse them. Some people over there don't want peace, want ever the cost. And I think President Bush and company know it, but they, appearance in denial, or blinded to the truth, what ever the case may be. Personally, I think they are like a blind man searching for a nonexistent light switch in a room full of rats.

As the American Israel Public Affairs Committee met in Washington, U.S. President George Bush Wednesday suspended plans to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.
The White House released a memo to the secretary of state ordering a six-month suspension in preparations for moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv. The order also coincided with a visit to the Oval Office by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

The issue of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has always been a sticking point in the Arab world and negotiations for establishing a Palestinian state have included demands the city be returned to Palestinian control.

Meanwhile, An Israeli daily says Cabinet Minister Shaul Mofaz has said Israel should attack Iran if it continues with its nuclear program.
The Yediot Ahronot newspaper quotes Mofaz as saying "If Iran will continue with its plan to develop nuclear weapons, we will attack it."

And Barac Obama has put his foot in his mouth again. Mere hours after becoming Israel's new ‘best friend’ Obama backtracks on status of Jerusalem. Apparently, his statements to the the AIPCAC conference that Jerusalem should not be divided were 'misunderstood' contradicted campaign policy.

Obama's adviser for the Middle East, former Ambassador to Israel Daniel Kurtzer, in May told the Israeli mass circulation daily, Haaretz, that his campaign considers it "impossible to make progress on serious peace talks without putting the future of Jerusalem on the table."

Thin Ice

Thin Ice

Arctic Losing Long-Term, Thicker Ice Coverage, Scientists Say

March 19 (Bloomberg) -- Older Arctic ice is decreasing dramatically, which may result in an acceleration of rising global temperatures, NASA researchers said.

While that news may get Al Gore and his fellow tree huggers hot and bothered, I am bothered by the proverbial "rest of the story"

According to the article,

"The thawing of the Arctic may provoke conflict between the European Union and Russia, as access to fossil-fuel deposits improves and new sea routes are opened up, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said on March 13 in an 11-page report.

Russia in August planted a flag on the Arctic seabed at the North Pole, staking a claim to billions of dollars of natural resources that are becoming more accessible as the sea ice retreats because of warmer temperatures. The U.S., Denmark, Canada, Norway and Russia all lay claim to part of the Arctic."

The Russian bear will be a ravisher beast sooner than most of us think.

The United State's economy is on thin ice too. Despite assurances that every thing is fine, and the Fed propping the stock market, we are on thin ice. Some of us are blithely skating on as we did before, and some us are down and trying to spread our weight, and some of us are dancing as fast as we can, but we are all going to be really wet. And soon!

Thin ice, indeed

Let them eat cake

Let them eat cake:

Global demand for grain and oilseeds is at record levels, causing the nation's grain stocks to reach critically low levels, according to Purdue University agricultural economist Chris Hurt.

With a weak U.S. dollar and global demand so high, foreign buyers are outbidding domestic buyers for American grain, Hurt said.

And somebody said "Time for the Atkins Diet." Well.... according Mr Hust, "More than 70 percent of Nebraska corn crop this year could go to ethanol production." And what do pigs and cows and chickens like? Corn!

And there's more: U.S. home prices dropped 9% in the final quarter of 2007 from a year earlier. That's the steepest decline in the 20-year history of the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index.

And more.... Gasoline prices, which for months lagged the big run-up in the price of oil, are suddenly rising quickly, with some experts fearing they could hit $4 a gallon by spring. Diesel is hitting new records daily and oil closed at an all-time high on Tuesday of $100.88 a barrel.

A little bit more..... Prices for finished energy goods — gasoline and home heating oil, for example — rose 1.5% in January, while food prices increased 1.7%, the biggest bump in four years. Over 12 months ended in January, prices for finished energy goods climbed 22.6%.

About that quote, "Let them eat cake." I'm told that Marie Antoinette never uttered the words.

But I think they're appropriate now.

Canadian Troops?

I came this piece on Canada.com: Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency.

Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Forces announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas.

The U.S. military's Northern Command, however, publicized the agreement with a statement outlining how its top officer, Gen. Gene Renuart, and Canadian Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, head of Canada Command, signed the plan, which allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency.

There are specific prohibitions on the US using against civilians. The Posse Comitatus Act comes to mind, and the introduction of Canadian troops only complicates the matter.

Why is that important? Well, I don't really know. But I find it odd.

Verse: Philippians 4:8

In my last posting I set out the dangers to the lack of knowledge.

This a starting point whether you are a newcomer or veteran.

The words Paul said to the Philippians were words of encouragement, and those words hold true for us, today, too. And it's a message for every body.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Thinking precedes action. If people would lets their minds dwell upon honesty, justice, purity, loveliness, virtue, things that of good report, and Godly praise, there would be a notable decrease in swearing, lying, killing, stealing, committing adultery, blood toucheth blood. (incest)

And if the teachers let their minds dwell on honesty, justice, purity, loveliness, virtue, things that of good report, and Godly praise, there would be less need for caution when choosing a teacher. But we live in an imperfect world, and even the best of up make missteps.

Set your mind on these things, and choose a teacher who holds these things dear. And be mindful of the last sentence.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Verse: Destroyed for lack of knowledge:

Hosea 3:6: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

That verse way written to Israel, but does it apply to us today?

Look at the things that the people were doing that were listed in Hosea.

swearing
lying
killing
stealing
committing adultery
blood toucheth blood (incest)

Do we, in this modern era, do these things? Do you do these things?

When I watch the news today, there's whole lot of swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, and incest going on. Some of it done by people who should know better. They are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

But why don't they know better?

Because the folks they look to for guidance and advice and teaching don't teach them it's wrong. And that group of teachers are the people this verse is directed to. But notice the last sentence.

"I will also forget thy children." (The people they teach)

It makes a difference which teacher you pick. So read the Bible and see if the teacher is correct. There will (eventually) be a test, and you don't want to miss this question.

Dark Moon: The Birth

The beginning of a story I posted on Ions.

"You must take the baby now, while I still breathe for him."
"I've found a torch. We will have light." Quentin could not see Borders blackness of the cave, but the torch smelled fresh enough. He dropped to his knees and pulled flint and steel from a leather pouch suspended from his shoulder. An ember glowed on the second strike, and the torch flared with little help from him.
Borders lay with legs splayed, her back against a rock. Her face was pallid, and flecks of light red foam sputtered at the corners of her mouth. The arrow in her chest swayed slowly when she breathed. "I'm cold," she said.
"The ground is cold and damp." Quentin knelt beside her and wiped the bloody froth from the corners of her mouth. "I'll make a fire."
A stone ledge had been hewn into the rock, though what kind of tools were used, Quentin did not know. The rock was smoothed and polished, almost like glass, and indented slightly. At one end, in a shallow pool of water, a million small creatures awoke. they pulsed in unison, or so it seemed, and filled the cavern with an eerie yellow light. Beside the ledge, an ivory colored chest, the hinges and hasp turned black with age. The legends spoke of such a place.
Borders ran a gentle hand over her bulging belly. "The pains have stopped," she said.
Quentin gently opened Borders dress. The flesh around the arrow as purple and puffy, and there was very little blood. He gently ran his hand under Borders' back, feeling and probing, until at last he found what he was looking for, a small hard bump well to the left of the spine.
"The arrow head is just below the skin. I'll have to push it through, cut it off, and then pull out the shaft."
"The baby," Borders said, and her head dropped toward a shoulder. She remained immobile several seconds before her head snapped up, and she stared wide eyed at Quentin. Her hand shot out and grabbed Quentin's tunic, and though she grimaced with pain, she sat forward and pulled Quentin toward her. Behind her, the rock ledge seemed to shimmer slightly, and the pulsing light flared for an instant.
"Take the baby now! Take the baby and go into the void," Borders said through gritted teeth. The wildness in her eyes subsided, and she fell back, exhausted.
"It will kill you if I take the child.? Quentin glanced at the ledge, and the pulsing in the pool seemed to quicken. "No one knows what lays beyond." But even as he spoke, he pulled the dagger from its sheath. He began to hum a soothing sound as he carefully cut the cloth away from Borders' stomach. Still humming, he went back toward the front of the cave, and found Bordens' pack. It was in disarray and almost empty, but the leather sewing kit was still intact.
There was a tinge of blue around Borders' lips when Quentin returned to her. She lay with her eyes closed, and swaying of the arrow was slow and gentle. Quentin knew Borders had said a soothing sound of her own, and he was careful not to break the mood.
Quentin laid out needle and horse hair thread so he could find them quickly. He wiped the blade of the dagger on the leg of his leather britches as he prepared to make the cut.
"That's an interesting way to get a baby out, but not one that I recommend." The voice was soft and bemused and seemed to be whispered directly into Quentin's
Quentin scrambled backward, swinging the dagger wildly, but it did not find her mark.
Instead a little man in a multi-colored robe seemed to shimmer into his view. He bent forward with his hands on his knees, and smiled almost gleefully as he surveyed Borders.
By Dulap's horn!" The little man squinted. "That's a Taluvion arrow!"
Quentin rocked to her feet. "Who are you?"
"I haven't seen an arrow like that in two and half hundred years." The little mused. He man turned and walked toward the pool. His hand seemed to shimmer as he dipped it in and turned.
"But who the hell are you," Quentin looked around quizzically, "And what place is this?
"This little one is peaceful now, but when she wakes up, she'll be as mean a snake." The little man started toward Borders, but Quentin leapt between them
The little man held up a cautionary finger, and his manner changed subtly as he brushed pass Quentin and bent over Borders.
"You can call me Cully, or you can call Colin, but you don't have to call me anything at all. You won't be here that long."
"I can fix the damage this barb has done." The little man continued, as he pulled the arrow out of Borders' chest, "But I can't fix what you have done to her."

Toward the front of the cave, the scraping clawed paws on stone, and the skittle rocks: Something was coming.
"Hurry, now!" The little hastened to straighten Borders' clothing. "Pick her up!"
"What's coming?" Quentin was seized with an alarm not like any he had felt before as the little man commanded.
"The hounds!" The little man had already started up some narrow hand holds in the shear rock wall.
"That way be wondrous creators, and lustful people, and deep felt love." he pointed to tunnel half hidden in the gloom. "Or bathe in the pool.
The little man had disappear from sight but he voice echoed
"Choose! And choose wisely. You will not pass this way again."

An Open Letter of Apology to Illegal Aliens in the United States

I think this sums up the feeling of many American citizens.

An Open Letter of Apology to Illegal Aliens in the United States

January 30, 2007 · 2 Comments

On behalf of the many Congressmen and women I have helped to elect in the last near three decades of my life, who have refused their obligations under the Constitution and their promises to me that led to my votes to elect them, I wish to apologize to you for your mistaken understanding that you are entitled to the same rights, privileges and freedoms your born, naturalized or amnestied brethren have earned in the United States of America.

Through the years, while hoping you would follow your promises made to me and to others to become legal citizens, we have educated you and your children for free, provided your free healthcare, and made you the recipient of thousands of programs to assist you, free of charge, along your way.

Despite being the wealthiest and most compassionate nation on Earth, our resources are nevertheless finite. There is a bottom to this well of funds we continue to expend on your behalf. Yet our government continues to do so to the direct detriment and flagrant discrimination of the legal citizens of our land. Regardless of politics, one day soon, this well is going to run completely dry.

Our hospitals are overwhelmed by your needs, and their subsidies for providing you free healthcare are shrinking as they continue to care for more and more and more of you. And we the legal taxpayers of this country cough up more and more money ourselves to keep our hospitals afloat. The unwed birthrate among illegal Hispanic teenage girls alone is the highest of any group in our country, more than three times the teenage pregnancy rate of whites and Asians, and one-and-a-half times that of African-American girls. And your numbers of teenage pregnancies only continue to grow. In the first three months of 2006 at Parkland charity Hospital in Dallas, 70% of all births were babies born to illegal aliens. Parkland, once one of the most reputable trauma centers in the US, and where JFK was taken after his assassination on downtown Dallas streets, is now a birthing center with more than 16,000 births recorded yearly.

Our elementary, middle and high schools are failing miserably to educate your children, as well as the millions of our own children born and naturalized in this land. About a fourth of Texas teachers are uncertified at the time of their hire in our frantic need to place educators of any definition into our classrooms. Our Texas classrooms are so overpopulated that we currently have one of the highest teacher-to-pupil ratios in the country, which has drastically lowered our ability to provide a quality education to all children. Our social groups struggle harder and harder to collect the donations necessary to see that your children have the free school supplies necessary to complete their education, in addition to providing these same compassion-born generosities for children born to legal citizens living in poverty. And the situation is growing worse as more and more and more of your children enroll.

We have even gone so far as to provide many of your children, even when they are also illegal aliens, with special financial aide and the privilege of being charged the in-state tuition fees for college that we don't offer to any of our legal residents and students beyond our state lines. And we provide this huge slap to the face in flagrant discrimination to the many students from foreign lands that have endured the exhaustive process of obtaining special Visas to attend our schools revered as some of the best in the world.

Our automotive insurance companies are reeling from paying for the millions of dollars in damages to-date to repair insured vehicles because they have no means of collecting from you when the damages are your fault, because you (as illegal aliens) are not insured. We legal citizens pay higher and higher premiums for insurance, so that you don't have to pay a penny, but still drive across our land. Latinos account for 43% of DUI arrests in Texas, and 45% of DUI arrests in California, according to our respective Departments of Transportation statistics for 2005. The majority of these arrests are Latinos with multiple previous DUI charges, so it is no wonder why more and more and more of our innocent citizens are being slaughtered and maimed on our roadways, nor why so very many of those causing DUI accidents either flee the scene or fail to appear in court, and merely disappear into your hidden world of anonymity to repeat the offense again.

Our jails overflow with illegal aliens arrested for crimes committed after breaching our borders and sneaking onto our land, and we pay for this also, as well as the cost of deporting some of these criminals, who would rather go “home” and sneak back in another day to avoid their further incarceration following the adjudication of their crimes in court. And we pay for the court costs, too, and your attorney fees all along the way. Then you steal over our borders again to repeat this seemingly endless cycle.

Not too long ago, we allowed you to obtain jobs here without any documentation at all. Not long after that, our President Ronald Reagan granted you amnesty, since our Congress was (and remains) spineless in its inability and refusal to find a real solution to the problem then of your numbers, which are dwarfed by your numbers today. Then, following public outcries, our employers were finally forced to require proof of your citizenship, which you falsified with remedial results. Further public outcry, and later the bombing of our World Trade Center in New York City by terrorists who hate us and you, and our freedoms and wealth, forced you to become much more sophisticated in lying about your citizenry to be able to work. Since then, you have stolen the identities of Americans alive and dead to continue to remain and work, and you have allowed thousands of profiteering criminals to line their pockets with the monies of your desperation in selling you those false identities.

Insofar as you taking jobs away from our legal citizenry, I don't blame you for that, for taking advantage of any opportunities that came your way. That is why you came, and you would have been fools not to avail yourselves of everything that has been given you. Instead, I blame the greed of the hundreds of employers who took advantage of YOU and used YOU to keep them from having to participate in a fair and competitive marketplace and fraudulently keeping down the costs of their doing business. And our government - as recently as the last week - refuses to hold employers accountable beyond a token wee slap on the wrist if caught.

There are many citizens in dire need of jobs in the US, but none other than you who could be forced to accept a job for as little as you have. This they were able to do to you because you, as illegal aliens, could be threatened with discovery and deportation if you complained. You didn't complain. Instead, you showed up in masses and we can deny neither your work ethic in your jobs, nor your networking to get there first. Without you, the companies would have enjoyed less profits, or merely passed along the higher costs of doing business to us, who by our patronage (or lack thereof) would force them to be smarter and more competitive, or face demise at the hands of businesses who would.

Our government deliberately looks “the other way” as you commit tax fraud daily. While your income is taxed when paid by check, real or electronic, and you further contribute to social security taxes you cannot ever access while an illegal alien, you neither file nor pay further income tax as all legal citizens must by April 15th of each year. Further, when your income is paid in cash, which you prefer, you pay no tax whatsoever, yet continue to benefit from the organized society those taxes provide us all. Instead of contributing to your own expense to us of your living and working here illegally, you send every penny possible back to your homeland to help pay exorbitant “coyote” fees to sneak your relatives into our country, too.

We have even made it easy now for you to vote in Mexico elections here on US soil, and prevent you from having to leave and then sneak back in to continue your lives here.

Make no mistake, we welcomed you to our country, and we always will, regardless of your race, creed, or nation or origin. We merely expect you to either stay here temporarily, seeking visitor status in full respect of our laws and covenants, or become a legal resident and citizen and stay forever. In return for your citizenship, we offer you all that you have received anyway and more, as well as the ability to vote and help us grow as a nation that has always embodied honor and diversity.

“Our forefathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” But understand clearly that Abraham Lincoln was addressing the citizens of the United States when he spoke those famous words on the Civil War battlefield of

Gettysburg. And no, illegal aliens are NOT equal to legal citizens. Otherwise, your amnesty, a legal forgiveness of your crimes in entering illegally and living here since, would never be necessary or discussed. And I oppose this with every ounce of my being.

I apologize to you today, because I believe in my heart the day is not long away when we will be forced as a nation to seal our borders, because people with motivations other than seeking a better life, motivations to do our nation and our citizens harm, will sneak across and enter illegally on your very heels and do their evil deeds to you and us. You have set a fine example for our enemies to follow, and have shown them how easily we enable your continued crimes in breaching our border.

I apologize to you today, because our politicians never will, since doing so would risk their dethroning at the next election by your sympathizers. And this is really their fault, you know, for not following the laws and obligations placed upon them by our Constitution that they gave an oath to follow and protect, as well as from the electorate whom they promised to respect and represent.

The day will never come when the United States does not welcome you to join us and take full part of the many rights, freedoms and amenities we enjoy as legal citizens, or to a lesser degree as legal visitors. But the day is coming soon when we citizens will force our national, state and local elected leaders to no longer allow you to be here illegally with impunity.

I apologize to you today, because we should never have led you to believe otherwise.

Sincerely yours,

An American Citizen

Linux

Vector Linux 5.9 Standard Released.

Linux addicts and aficionados had a little something extra under the Christmas tree. Vector Linux 5.9 Standard. And Vector Linux 5.9 Deluxe was released before the first of the year. Vector Standard is a free download and Deluxe is available at the company store. http://vectorlinux.com/

For those users who don't know what Linux is, it an alternative to Windows, and most distro include the basic software you need on the install disk.

I bought the Deluxe version which includes a second disk of almost 700 megs of extra software, so I am set for the new year.

I don't want to do a full software review right now. I don't know how much interest there would be one. But here is the blurb from the Vecter Linux home page. It is good software. Try it. Like it. Buy it.

Speed, performance, stability -- these are attributes that set VectorLinux apart in the crowded field of Linux distributions. VectorLinux is a lighterweight, fast, Linux operating system for Intel-AMD x86 compatible systems and is based upon Slackware, one of the original Linux distributions. Slackware is the true 'Unix' of Linux distributions and its popularity stems from the fact that it is a robust, versatile and almost unbreakable system. VectorLinux has improved Slackware to produce a bloat free, easy to install, configure and maintain operating system that is second to none. We include automatic hardware configuration, unique administration tools and easy software package management via the Gslapt/slapt-get system. VectorLinux is considered to be the fastest, non-source Linux distribution on the planet!

Give VectorLinux a try and discover the difference........ Welcome home.

It's a mad mad mad mad world

If ever this mad, mad, mad, mad world needed "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" it's now! (1970 re-release)

That movie was release in 1963, and re-release in 1970. I think it should be re-re-release today.

Like all great comedy, it has an element of tragedy. To quote  one  reviewer,  "...But underneath all the slapstick and shouting, holding the whole movie together, is that incredibly cynical message. It is a movie about kind, decent folks turning into law-breaking lunatics and ruining their lives for the sake of money. The subplot with Spencer Tracey realizing his entire life has been a waste, and then ruining what life he has left, is one of the most tragic story lines I have seen. But it's also pretty darn funny.

All the critics need to lighten up and see this for the absurd, delirious, hysterical farce it is."

And that's the way of life. We go from the absurdly ridicules to the sublime, to the deadly serious in the blink of an eye.

Sometimes when I look at the headlines, I think the whole world has gone crazy.

And the advertisements for mood enchanting drugs and sleep aids are going great guns. We may all be crazy, but we'll be a happy bunch, who sleep well at night!

But there is a dark side to this, too.

The word Pharmacy is based the Greek root word Pharmakia

Pharmakeia = administration of drugs to the ill
Pharmakon = magic or poison (there is no such thing as magic, but lots of poison)

The word "Pharmakia" is Greek for witchcraft and Sorcery as used in the New Testament when we are warned against using witchcraft etc.

These drugs can be extremely beneficial or they can be a curse. It is up to us to discern the differents. But we're taking a lot of them. I read that we're popping so many mood drugs that their breakdown products in urine, gushing into waterways, have accumulated in fish tissues. When we've gotten to the point of poisoning fish, you know we're talking about a lot of drugs.

Happy fish.... I like that.

Stepping Out

Stepping  Out.

I'm really stepping out of my comfort zone, here. But there are some things that need to be said, and some things that are better left alone. Some of the things in this blog may be out of your comfort zone, too, and some of thought may seem truly weird. But it's like a jig-saw puzzle, and all fit together and make a whole picture. We don't have all the pieces yet, but I can tell you that it's a big puzzle, and it will take a long time to get the whole picture.  Maybe a lifetime...
